Jay Registrar
First, let me admit that I have never heard a pair of La Scalas, but I do own Cornwalls and Herseys. Are the LaScalas really that much better than the Cornwalls? In addition, what would a nice pair of vintage LaScalas be worth? Thank you for your input! dp1954
I have both cornwalls and lascalas. Are the lascalas that much better? not in my book. I prefer my corns over my lascalas. But understanding that this is in my house, my setup and my gear. I much prefer the bass on the corns over the lascalas.......... YMMV.. J.4knee
Bass is deeper on the CWs but the Mids are much better on La Scala's IMO. To me it seems like there is a hole in the sound of the CWs b/t Mid and Woof. Now having said that there is no disputing which one will dig deeper and deliver a stronger bass. The CW has that hands down. So you have to choose which is more important. I prefer the sound of bass horn over a direct radiator and IMO the LS bass in its range is very good. The lower octave can easily be covered by a Klipsch Sub so I do not think you can go wrong with either speaker selection but it will come down to your preferences in the end. I prefer the LS hands down but that is my ears, my gear, and my room If you can swing it get the LS II's
