wuzzzer
I thought of selling my Forte IIs to purchase these. I think I'd rather have a pair of near mint Forte IIs than a beat-up pair of LaScalas. Someone good at refinishing or who doesn't mind the wear will probably get a good deal on these http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ele/357420122.html
oldbuckster
Gee, on the surface it seems like a good deal.............not much info on them.........$600. is a low price
rsp1068
They are LS-BLS sn#'s 8508425, and 26. They have grille's. He sent me some iffy pix from his cell phone, but for $600 thy are worth a look. I emailed him yesterday at which time he said no pix, then last night sent some after someone threw "an offer" at him. What year are they? jamesV
PLease correct me if I am wrong. If the serial numbers are 8508425 and 8508426 the frist two numbers are the year, so 1985. James
rsp1068
Thank you James. That was my assumption, but it was just that.
Guest " "
"Gee, on the surface it seems like a good deal.............not much info on them.........$600. is a low price" hmmm....normally early to mid 70's curb kickers are 500 - 600. These are worth looking into...they may have K-55-M mid drivers in them.
rsp1068
And this would be a good thing (driver models) speakerfritz? He emailed me about 1/2 hour ago and wants me to set up peek at them tomorrow a.m. Am on the fence, as I bought a pair of Chorus about a year ago, had to try em, and them sold em as the mid was way to hot for my music preferences. The Reference series are my cup of tea. May be worth a quick road putt just to see?
Guest " "
"And this would be a good thing (driver models) speakerfritz?" depending on the type of crossover...the k-55-m has some improvements.
rsp1068
Well that was easy. Mama says nope, "you just bought new amps, that should do it for a little while"... I do live by nos valves philosiphy of, do it-then get permission, when I'm not on the fence.........
