Sub Recommendations

I have two systems I am looking for a subs for...

Living Room - Smaller LR w/ Heresy front speakers and R5800C surrounds. Would like a sub that will fill in the low end and sound musical (not muddy). I am not really concerned about really loud volumes, but I do turn it up when working in other rooms, etc. 50% movies/TV & 50% music. The sub will be placed on wood flooring, so I am not sure if that means I need to stay away from down firing or not. Denon 2807 receiver.

Master Bedroom - We have a small setup w/ R5800w fronts and R6500c rears (6.5 reference ceiling). This is used primarly for movies and TV watching, with some music. Probably 80% movies/20% music). The sub will be placed on carpet. Denon 1706 receiver.

For your living room, one of the most effective powered subs I have tried was SVS cylinder subs. They are reasonable in cost as well. There's one for sale on Audiogon:

I would recommend the smaller Velodynes for your bedroom. There are so many...

I recommend the Klipsch Sub 12 for the LV, and the Sub 10 for the Bedroom........

You may want to hunt down an opinion from forum member "EAR". He really knows his sub's.
