ManchesterKhorn
Hi all out there, Does anyone have a pdf or the like attachment of plans for Heresy Risers and are there any customs one's out there that work better ? Best Regards Lee
Groomlakearea51
Easy day!! Heresy-I's were 13 7/8" wide x 12 1/2" deep x 1" tall; I've also seen 13 3/4" x 12 1/2 as well. They mount flush with the back side, evenly spaced. Heresy-II's started with the 1" tall as well, however, towards the end, the had a "slant" riser. Same "wide" x "deep" dimensions, BUT, height is/was 2" in front to 1" in back. Attachment is by four x #8 x 2" panhead screws, recessed into the riser. I would recommend "industrial" velcro so you don't drill holes into the nice bottoms of your Heresy's Wood is 3/4" thick birch plywood. Veneer is parallel to the length, although I've see vertical.... Veneer to match your actual wood on your Heresy's is available from a number of sources, however, www.joewoodworker.com is a good source. Glue... Use Heatlock; easy to use; no fumes; simple intructions, etc.... I'm still trying to finish some other projects so I don't have any risers as of yet. I have several folks that want some, and will get to it in a few weeks, if the weather holds up and work slacks off.... Hope that helps. greg928gts
If you are going to make your own risers, you might consider making them like the Heresy III's. If you are going to veneer them, you can veneer a piece of plywood first, then cut the pieces. Much easier than veneering all the little pieces individually.
