pauln
I don't know what an MP3 player is either. I don't own any CDs or CD player, no TVs (HD or otherwise), never rented a video or owned a video player, no 'pod stuff, never downloaded a song, I've never even seen an amp with more than two channels, I don't even have a ring tone on my cell phone and have never sent a text message on it. What I do have is a deep understanding and love of music, a collection of instruments some of which I play well, and a profoundly enjoyable and simple music system. Just because one has been easily influenced by made-up popular culture trends (invented by advertising) and fooled to continually consume the latest and greatest new commercial electronic toy does not make one any superior to another that thinks independently and resists mass popular fads, fashion, and all that fluff. The path to value is not paved by the herd mentality of the consuming public following their instructions from the entertainment ad agencies. Value comes from establishing your own standards, making your own tests, and performing your own analyses. This is increasingly more difficult in the modern world and I respect anyone that resists the machine.
