bigpants_ku
I need you all to prevent me from developing buyer's remorse (which I don't have, for the record) I'vebeen calling around looking for a store that keeps a floor model RC-64that I could listen to for about a week and a half, as I'm interestedin getting one for my new much bigger home theater. I finallyfound one at Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City. The salesmantells me Klipsch is either making a new model or the store is notcarrying them anymore or something, because they've been marking themdown (sale sign was for $695) and closing them out. He sold hislast two NIB ones today at a discount, and offered to sell me the floormodel for $299. I listened to it for 30 minutes, music, movies, different combos of speakers with it, it alone, etc, and it soundedgreat. I also looked it over and found a few small scuffs on theedges of the back where some lazy employee had probably shoved itagainst shelf edge when installing it in the HT demo room. They keptthe grill on it and nobody had dented any of the speakers oranything--they all looked great. So I took off with it for $300,no manual, no box (but I'll still get the factory warrantee--I assume). Knowingthese things are selling at most dealers I've called for around 7hundred bucks (MSRP=$899), I just couldn't say no. It's a blackone and won't match my cherry RF5s, but it will be back in my mediawall and the finish won't really show anyway. What do you all think? Good call by me? If you're unhappy with the scuffs, I'll gladly trade you even up for my mint condition RC-62[Y] I live on the east side of the KC metro area, so I'll gladly meet you in Topeka to make the trade. Since I paid more than $300 for my RC-62, I promise not to make you pay extra for the trade[A] PS.... I take everything I said back. Dewd..... you got royally screwed. Because I am such a wonderful and caring citizen..... I'll take that damaged RC-64 off your hands, and give you my mint RC-62 in trade........since I feel sorry you being taken advantage of in such a harsh way. Ya know.... I'll consider it to be for the greater good in a public service kind of way. I'm willing to do what it takes to right the wrong committed by NEB F.MART!! bigpants_ku
Sorry, Buckeye, finder's keepers! [H] I knew this was a good deal from a $$ perspective, I just wantedto see what the group thought of buying a floor model that's been indemo use for an unknown period of time. Now if I can just get their floor model RF-83's for, oh, lets shoot for around...$350?
