McIntosh vs Pioneer

I would like some opinions. I have a Pioneer SX-1980 and am thinking of buying a McIntosh MA-6900. Should I expect any sonic differences ? I am using Klpisch Belles with Al's Trachorns and Beyma Tweeters.

I think you would hear differences, not dramatic. More like a different flavor. The McIntosh might sound a bit warmer. The Pioneer was a good (great) receiver in it's day, now it is nearly 30 years old. Some of the capacitors are probably tired.

And those blue meters...how can you resist?

I also have a Pioneer SX-1980 and after almost 30 years I am still listening to it and love the sound. If you do decide to go with the McIntosh don't sell your Pioneer, they don't make them like that anymore.

The problem here is...............Once you hear the Mac you'll want it...........Someday.......damn voices !!!!!!
