youngjj
Any advice on dented passive radiators in a Forte II? Can they be "undented" safely, or is it not a big deal? A pair I am considering buying has some dents.
mas
Not a big deal. If you must, try using a vacuum cleaner hose CAREFULLY.
Bonzo
Sound wise it's no big deal, it's just one of those things that drives me crazy! I have not been successful with a vacuum. I just glued new ones over the top of the dented ones on my Forte's. Orange County Speakers in SoCal used to carry them. You could carefully use an exacto knife to remove the old ones and glue on new ones? I thought about it but my hands just aren't as steady as they used to be! Good luck, Mark
Klipschfoot
Not a big deal. If you must, try using a vacuum cleaner hose CAREFULLY. Use an adapter and small suction tube if you have one. Do you have one of those universal small attachment kits that attaches to the hose? Then, when you successfully withdraw the dimple out of the dome (that sounds funny, doesn't it?), turn off the vacuum cleaner while maintaining contact with the dome (now that REALLY sounds funny). That is what I did once and it worked just fine. You don't want to suck the dust cap right off the radiator.
youngjj
Great suggestions. Thanks. Is there any way to do it by opening the back and gently pushing it out, or can it not be reached?
Arky
Great suggestions. Thanks. Is there any way to do it by opening the back and gently pushing it out, or can it not be reached? I don't think so. Duct tape, tooth picks glue etc. are all methods i've read searching the archives.
