I have bought my speakers one section at a time so I could get what I

wanted. The reference front towers with rs surrounds and rc center.

Anyhow, finally going to get my sub and due to lack of room for a

square sub box, going to need a tube 10" but if i have to go with 12" i will. Wanting to spend

around $500 maybe up to $700.00. Is this possible to get a nice

sounding sub or should I wait until I can spend more and nice sounding

I mean rattle my house if possible. Ty for any insight you can lend my

way. Was looking at the svs but if i was looking right all they have is 12" woofers, i really dont have the room since they have diameter of 16" but if that is what i have to do I'll do it, ty for any advice you can throw my way. OH and is there really that much difference in sound between a 10 and 12?

If you're looking at a brand such as SVS they do have a 10" box sub available.

As far as the difference in sound between a 10" and a 12", generally a 12" woofer can play deeper bass and since it is larger it can move more air resulting in it playing louder. Those are very general statements and in the real world there are many subs utilitizing 10" woofers that will sound much better than a cheap sub using a 12" woofer. Smaller woofers tend to have bass that sounds tighter and sometimes if the woofer is too large you end up with boomy sounding bass that doesn't have much definition and seems to only play at one bass frequency.
