HOGFAN
Does anyone know (ballpark) about how much it would cost to fix a blown tweeter in an Academy center? I think the tweeter is a K-76-KV. Is this something I could do myself (no an audiophile, but somewhat mechanically inclined). I would appreciate any feedback from you seasoned 'philes......... Thanks, Hogfan
Frzninvt
All you need to do is pull the tweeter, remove the three nuts securing the composite horn flange and put a new diaphram in it. Contact Bob Crites (BEC) here on the forum and he can get you the diaphram you need to do it. Not sure on the pricing but I think it is approximately $30 but don't quote me on that. You can also call 1-800-Klipsch and ask for the parts department and order one from them if they still stock them.
Mikekid
I had to replace the same thing a couple of years ago. Bob Crites sent me a pair. (Wanted a spair) He has some on Ebay..or contact Klipsch. As far as installation...nothing to it.[][Y]Take care Mike
