Mattevt
My KG 3.5s are more than 10 years old. I was wondering if there was anything I should be looking for in terms of upgrades and replacement to the speakers themselves (I don't want new speakers yet, and I can't really afford them anyway.) Thanks
Daddy Dee
Mattevt, You should be good for several years to come. Crossover caps will eventually drift off spec, but after only ten years or so, your good to go. Twenty year old speakers could use fresh caps. You've got some good sounding speaks there. Enjoy! Frzninvt
The crossovers for those speakers should be mounted to the input cup, just remove the screws from the cup on the rear of the speaker and it should have a PCB based network attached to the input cup. A schematic diagram would be helpful in determining the cap values, however most should be listed on the caps themselves. It will require some soldering skills to replace the caps.
