Mudkicker
Hello, I need to buy some speaker wire to hook up my Klipsch KG 2.5 to my Marantz 4002. Any suggestions as to what brands to look for and what gauge? Each speaker will be about 6 feet away from the receiver. Thanks Mud
mas
Let's see, a search for "speaker wire" in just the technical questions section only returns 4471 items. (and my gut reaction is that this is from the last two weeks alone!)[] Get yourself 20 feet of 12 or14 guage speaker wire from Home Depot or Lowes. Guage feet/ohm ohms/foot 10 490.2 .204 12 308.7 .
White_Hawk
Speaker resistance, distance and gauge are all that matters. As mas said, get the 12 or 14 gauge cheap. Brand names exist to rip you off.
Groomlakearea51
Whatever you do, DON'T get mas and the rest of the gang started on wires again!!! [][][6]
Mudkicker
Thanks for the replies. For the KG 2.5, what is the best way to terminate the wire? I have never used anything to terminate, plugs etc. i have always hooked up my speakers to the bare wire. What do you suggest? mas
Bare wire or banana plugs. The available connectors pretty much dictate this. Don't make this more difficult then need be.
