Need center channel suggestions!

Hi everyone,

I'm finally jumping into the surround-sound arena.Just bought a Yahama RX V3800,using some vintage (1968) Cornwalls for the front,a pair of Heresys for the rear, and a 15 in. Velodyne sub. Television is a Sony Wega 60 inch.

My question is in regards to the center channel. What would anyone recommend for me? BTW: I listen to my music and films at very high levels.

Thanks for any help in this.

Like Youthman stated, a Cornwall to match your mains would be the best possible situation. Not too many have that option, so if not then another Heresy would work. Remember the center channel is what gives up the majority of the vocals from movies.

James

BTW, post some pictures of those Corns

Hello James V,

Yeah...maybe another Heresy indeed...probably easier to find one of those alone than a Cornwall eh?

I will look over the download section to see if I can figure out how to post pics...I'm sort of new to the Mac scene...

Also...to everyone and anyone...I have a bit of a mystery speaker that I picked up a few years ago. I feel that it is quite old...maybe 40's/50's? Anyway,It sort of looks like a Cornwall...maybe...but it definately looks like some sort of Klipsch lineage is involved.

Thanks for the replys people!

Oh Yes indeed!

The Heresys were used and abused when I got them...not sure how old they really are...but my Cornwall set I know are from '68,and I love shocking people when they hear them for the first time...now those I think I got somewhere around '82 or so....paid something like 350.00 for the pair.

I guess U could call these Heritage...I think prefer 'Old School'!

Yeah,that's the ticket....

U have never heard a set of Cornwalls or Cornerhorns?

Good Lord!

Back in 1980, I used to drive over to Altimonte Mall (other side of Orlando) just to listen to them about twice a year, and dream of owning some.

U have yet to live life to the extremes!!!

Don't do it Youthman or you'll quickly be back in the speaker market. Just something about good heritage.Stick out tongue

I hope not. I somehow went from being interested in the RB-61 and now have found myself "upgrading" before I even bought them all the way to the RF-83 setup. Still waiting on them to arrive. Really hoping I can find out something on Monday.
