I am probably not going to be much of a help but . . .

I have never used either of these receivers but I do have the DA555ES from Sony. I think that it is the same except it doesn't have dual room capabilities. Probably some other things but hey. I simply love my Sony. It has performed flawlesly. Sounds great, awesome warranty, great features and make my Klipsch reference sound great.

As for the HK. I went to school with a guy that worked at an electronics store. So, he got things at cost. I think that he got the one lemon in the bunch. He had to have his HK serviced like 3 times. At that point he went with a Yamaha. Which he liked. Personally, I don't.

Now this is my only experience and I am sure there are many that have had the oposite experience.
