Moderators Youthman Posted April 17, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 17, 2008 The guy that bought my CF-2's wants to get a sub to add to his setup. He found a MK V-125 for $225 on CL. Looks like it is in great shape. Says new it was $750. Not sure how old it is. Do you think it is worth that much? I'm thinking he can get it cheaper but mainly, is it a good sub? Anyone had experience with MK subs? Below are the specs I found on this website. The #1 ranked V-125 and the enhanced THX version set the performancestandard for their class. V-125 has speaker level high-pass. Drivers: (1) 12"long throw MK-125 magnetically shielded Recommended Power: 125 watts RMS Frequency Response: 20-125 Hz +/-3db Finish: Black Lacquer Bead Dimensions (HxWxD): 18" x 15-1/4" x 20-1/4" Weight: 52 lbs each

Lovebohn
I think M&K has always made great subs, $225 for a good used one seems fine to me. I have used MTX, JBL, M&K, Def Tech, Klipsch and SVS. The M&K always put out good clean tight bass.
TheEAR
For $225 great buy if the sub is in great shape,100% functional ...inspect the woofer's sourround,is it flexible? If it is dry and ecven one crack is visible...avoid(as a recone is in order). Know that M&K subs have little output below 25Hz.
