killerbee
sorry guys, I'm sure its asked all the time, but I assume you wouldn't be here if you didn't enjoy discussing tech. I'm looking to replace a set of 12" Onkyo fronts.. I'll be using the system for HT but I wan't the most performance from rock/metal music. I'm considering Rf-82's or F-3. Does one naturally lend itself more towards music? My current setup for is SS.5, SC.5, KSW10 THANKS
jdeanmc
i dont know how well they'd blend with your surrounds and center, but id opt for the rf-82's.Ive replaced synergy sb-1's with rf-3II's and couldnt possibly describe the difference.I'm totally amazed with the clarity of the rf-3ii's of course this depends on your signal source,im using the yamaha rx-v1800 and anone who has heard my system is blown away with the sound, honestly its like the performer is righ there in front of you,ive had it so loud it'l almost run you out of the room and still no distortion. The 82's are an upgraded version of the 3II's to the best of my understanding so my vote goes with these (though im a little bias) just my 2 cents Dean
killerbee
Yeah, I know I won't get a perfect match, but I don't use the SS and SC for music (only for movie) so I don't consider matching as big of a deal as getting more out of my music. I wouldn't consider the matching front for music. I've read a few write ups saying to say away from the F3. I'll decide whether the RF82 is worth buying over the 62s. Rhetor
I'll decide whether the RF82 is worth buying over the 62s. Recently got the 82s . . . they are amazing!
Guest BobG
I think RF-82's are the best performance/price value in the entire Klipsch line.
Bill H.
Get the 82's and sell off your SS, SC equipment..........then later on you can purchase the Proper center and Surrounds. http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rf-82-home-theater-system.aspx
D-Rock
... The 82's are an upgraded version of the 3II's to the best of my understanding ... Exactly how are these upgraded over the R*-3IIs? D.
killerbee
I ended up picking up a set of RF-35s, I'm very happy with them. I watched Transformers and the sound was great. I may end up getting Reference SS/SC and moving the Synergy stuff to the bedroom, but I'm happy right now. I think I'd rather grab a pair of RB-35 for "B" speakers
