Outdoor Speakers

I am not looking to spend a huge amount of money, and don't need a ton of power (am I allowed to say that here?). I saw the HS-1 at Amazon for $116, down from a $200 retail.

Any advice?

Is the HS-1 a decent outdoor speaker for a patio area? It's hard to beat that price for a Klipsch product. I'll have the outdoor speakers running from my soon to arrive Onkyo 705.

I'm sure they'll be great. I have the older (but larger) SA-2s and they WAY exceeded my expectations. I'm guessing the HS-1s will do the same for you and at a very reasonable price.

I use HT 2's from a few years ago & they cover my large deck very nice.

Please remember with all outdoor speakers that they do have limited low bass output, so don't try to compensate by using the Loudness button or cranking the bass, this will just result in blown woofers. Likewise, cranking the receiver to the point of distortion will cause it to clip and burn out tweeters.

You wouldn't expect a compact cabinet with a 5 or 6" woofer to cover your entire living room, so please don't expect to host a dance party by the pool with screaming 17 year olds. They are great for listening to tunes on the patio but are not a PA system.
