boa12
maxg, the bass mgmt issue really come about using big non-thx speakers like klipsch makes in the HT 5.1 domain. when you wire up the sub speaker level you're doing the bass mgmt w/ the sub's crossover control. trouble when you do that in *.1 channels, almost all receivers & pre/pros send all of the LFE channel to the sub preout when you set sub:yes. hence if you have the cross on &/or set low on the sub it cuts LFE which is speced up to at least 120hz. mike, even if you could wire the svs speaker level, i think you'd find the LFE doesn't sound as good & dynamic. at least for me, the LFE was much better when it wasn't digitally mixed in to the other channels. ------------------ My Home Systems Page

Don't know about 5.0 disks do not own any yet. I have 2 channel SACDs (woofer works) and 5.1 (woofer works). I would agree with you about the interconnects. The amount of wires coming from a SACD player is overwhelming and just adds to the jumble of wires I already have. A firewire player might be the answer, but when they appear I might have to consider the upgrade. But after hearing a SACD player, I just said "hang the wires" this is sound that I do not won't to pass up. The player is so good in just play 2 channel mode it hard to describe. The SACD mode is just "icing on the cake". If you want the experience, don't put it off. ------------------ Bill J. My Music System
