This appeared in a bibliography by Tom Dunker. It took me a while to get around to looking it up with determination. Dallas Public Library has the journal back that far in hard copy. Chicago Public does not have even microfilm for back that far.

It is a bit of shame that the tractrix had this appearence in a widely circulated technical journal. Then it faded into obscurity until Bruce Edgar championed it. At least as far I can tell.

It is interesting that an analog computer was used to model the horn. Heathkit made an analog computer and my high school had one. I never got to play with it, though.

Years later I modeled horns, or actually transmission lines, with Ls and Cs in PSpice with good results. The student edition had a limit on transmission lines. I will assume something similar was done with the analog computer.
