"Sound" Of A Plastic Tractrix Horn - Rope Caulk Damping Questions

I once tried rope caulk on my old CF 4's.

Now I have CF 3's

It seemed the rope caulk made the sound kinda dead and lifeless, but it has been awhile.

To fault my CF 3' version one I like so much, they have what sounds like either a slight peak on upper range of singers like Neil Diamond and Foreigner,

It is slight, and NOT on all recordings.

Could this be horn squak

WHAT does horn squak sound like ?

I was thinking I may be hearing the plastic in the horn ?

Any thought, experience on this ?

Thank You

Chris

I owned Belles way back when.

BEAUTIFUL speakers !!

Do you hear the folded horn woody sound ?

Man, it drove me NUTS.

God, I wanted to like those speakers.

Mine were beautiful.

Yes, I liked the Forte's, but they were small speakers, and a LITTLE "on the edge" of brightness.

Maybe some room treatments, different amps might have helped ?

I still want to TRY Conwall 2's ?

DJK says he likes them.

He turned me on to the old Forte's.

I know others who LOVE Belle's and Klipschorns, just never had luck with them I guess ?

What are you driving stuff with Paul, and what are your likes and dislikes so far ?
