ka7niq
I once tried rope caulk on my old CF 4's. Now I have CF 3's It seemed the rope caulk made the sound kinda dead and lifeless, but it has been awhile. To fault my CF 3' version one I like so much, they have what sounds like either a slight peak on upper range of singers like Neil Diamond and Foreigner, It is slight, and NOT on all recordings. Could this be horn squak WHAT does horn squak sound like ? I was thinking I may be hearing the plastic in the horn ? Any thought, experience on this ? Thank You Chris
nomad02rider
Hi Chris, I haven't seen a post from you for quite a while.Still have the bug I see. I can't answer your question but I was curious if you still have your corner horns? Paul
ka7niq
I sold them, then I got speaker lab corner horns I thought were better. Too much coloration inherent in a folded horn used well up in the midrange in my experience. What are you using right now Paul ?
nomad02rider
I have a pair of Belles, Chorus II, KG4's, and the Cornwalls I purchased from you. I remember you really liked the Forte's. The Speakerlabs were the ones I was refering to.
ka7niq
I owned Belles way back when. BEAUTIFUL speakers !! Do you hear the folded horn woody sound ? Man, it drove me NUTS. God, I wanted to like those speakers. Mine were beautiful. Yes, I liked the Forte's, but they were small speakers, and a LITTLE "on the edge" of brightness. Maybe some room treatments, different amps might have helped ? I still want to TRY Conwall 2's ? DJK says he likes them. He turned me on to the old Forte's. I know others who LOVE Belle's and Klipschorns, just never had luck with them I guess ? What are you driving stuff with Paul, and what are your likes and dislikes so far ?
