SOUPNAZI
Hi all..... I finally got my KLF30 back from the fix it shop...they replaced the X over because the Mid wasn't working, anyhow the mid is fine now but the tweeter isn't working now ,so I replaced the voice coil with a spare I had...working now. What should be the resistance reading on a good voice coil off a KLF30 tweeter...?I did a continuity check and it failed... Thanks SOUPNAZI ------------------ This message has been edited by SOUPNAZI on 01-26-2002 at 03:48 PM
Mighty Favog
The continuity test should be enough to tell you if it's bad or not. No continuity = no contact. No contact = no complete circuit. No complete circuit = signal not getting to where it should go. Something else to look for is if the bad diaphram's (this is what your actually replacing) copper winding is a dark, tarnished, burnt looking. It should be as bright as a brand new penny. ------------------ Tom KLF-20 Mahogany (Hotwired) McIntosh C33 Preamp McIntosh MVP-841 CD/DVD Rotel RB-1080 Amp Yamaha PF-800 Turntable/ Sure V15 Type V Cartridge Ortofon VMS-30 mkII Cartridge Stanton P888SS Cartridge Yamaha K-1020 Cassette dbx 1231 EQ H.H.
