Earle Decker Posted January 30, 2002 Share Posted January 30, 2002 I'd go with the pair of ultras. The SS series has only a small gain in performance over the ultras. So two of the ultras will give you much more output over the single SS. Now if $$$ was no object the SS's look nice and a pair of them should outgun a pair of the ultras. I have a pair of the 20-39's and really cant imagine needing more bass, though the thoughts of another pair of 20-39s sounds like fun. I would take the Ultra pair for output(two Ultras should give about 3 dB more output compared to a single SS). If quality comes first then its a no brainer THE SVS SS is teh only choice.Great finish and awesome single sub performance only matched by very exotic super subs. Now what I will get this year is TWO SVS SS subs,he he. Its the ultimate in output and quality for the dollar. I will not call about 3dB more output MUCH MORE OUTPUT. Seb Posted January 31, 2002 Share Posted January 31, 2002 depnds what you want. as Ears just said, if finish and quality are important to you, go with the SS (not that the quality of the Ultras is lacking, but it just has a much more "no frills" approach). if you just care about sound, then the two Ultras should rock your boat quite nicely. ------------------ 'cuz not a lot of people have ever said "Pump up the treble!"
