George Roland
Is it possible to change a compression driver's impedance, say from 8 to 16 ohms? If so, what must be done to accomplish this? Many thanks, George
ZAKO
Change the VC diaphram to 16 ohms if available.
djk
Or use an autoformer. For example: with a T2A and an Altec 290 using a 16 ohms diaphragm on tap 4, 8 ohm on tap 3, or 4 ohm on tap 2; all will have essentially the same response. Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted October 9, 2008 Klipsch Employees Share Posted October 9, 2008 what driver are you talking about. Most of the mid CD are around 16 ohms.
Don Richard
If you use passive crossovers you will need to change some components in the crossover to make a driver of a different impedance work properly.
