doctorcilantro
I am about to buy a new midrange driver to replaceone that was damaged by my psychotic cat. Is the mid woofer (W2) the same as the sub (W1)? Just thought I'd check if anyone happens to have an extra they would sell me; they cost 160 new. wuzzzer
A little confused here...RF-7s are two way speakers with two woofers and one tweeter. The woofers should be identical to each other. [:^)]
doctorcilantro
I guess they are identical but the specs discuss the crossover as designed for a "seemless blend to the upper midrange/bass" for the woofers. I did want to find out the lowest freq. the tweeter puts out. Anyone know? DC
wuzzzer
If you would have scrolled down just a wee bit further on that page you would have found this: Crossover frequency 2200Hz [H]
jacksonbart
RF-7s is a two way speaker. The bottom two woofers run in parallel (for efficiency and to keep up with the massive tweeter) so they cover the same frequencies. You can order a new woofer from Klipsch parts. doctorcilantro
Thanks. So would it be safe to say that quite a bit of the midrange is handled by the woofers as "midrange" is noted to be from 500hz-5kHz...? DC
wuzzzer
Yes. Some have felt the midrange of RF-7s was lacking somewhat. When I did an A/B comparison between my RF-7s and my Forte IIs, the Fortes won out due to their higher midrange detail and presence.
