  1. He would enjoy it then. Nothing scary about it really and not too much blood. Its in the same league as X-Men, Punisher, Spiderman and the other comic book movies only it tops most of them IMO.
  2. I'm not sure on the SPL but the Denon will drive the RF-7s with no problem. It will be louder than you can listen to.
  3. Yes I have Gangs of New York and like it a lot. Hellboy is every bit as good as X2 if not better. It's based on the comic book.
  4. Has anyone bought or rented this yet? I dont even remember it in the theaters for some reason. Anyway the movie rocks and the soundtrack is one of the best I have heard in awhile. It's a must see~
  5. OK, if you dont want them to melt with Sade, you want them to dance and grind to music like Digital Underground "Freaks of the Industry" and if that doesnt work there is simply no hope.
  6. I bought an RC-7 a month or so back and it said it was an RC-7 on the back sticker but it read only 125 max watts. I called my dealer who had Klipsch call me directly and they confirmed it was indeed an RC-7 by the serial number and simply sent me a new sticker that was printed correctly. So call Klipsch and they will send you a new sticker directly I'm sure. Edit: Klipsch gave me the option of getting a whole new speaker if I wanted one because of a little sticker. I said the correct sticker would be fine. Awesome customer service.
  7. I would get the RC-7 center and 4 RB-75s that will run $2,500.00 or less if they are willing to bargain with you. Speakers: $2,500.00 SVS: $825.00 TV: Leaves you $2,600.00 or so for a TV which will get you a nice 65" RPTV Personaly I like the look of the Reference much better than Heritage and if the sound difference is that big of a deal simply send your x-overs to DeanG and the problem is solved.
  8. I have not heard anything about this and thought for sure if they demo'd it at CEDIA you guys that went to Indy would have had a chance to hear it.
  9. Should I run the two back RF-7s as back speakers or surround speakers? I don't have room for side surrounds until we move into our house so adding surrounds is not an option. I have been toying with it a little bit and it seems to sound better with them plugged in as left and right surround instead of back speakers. I need to upgrade my receiver next. What would sound better, going with a nice pre-pro setup like B&K or using a nice preamp like the Peach in front of a high power HT receiver?
  10. In Finding Nemo the best bass track by far is when Darla is knocking on the glass with her finger. On the DVD it is 21: something I think.
  11. I think HK has a great sound for the price. They are a great match with Klipsch as well.
  12. Ozzy had an awesome solo career after Black Sabbath.
  13. Thx for the reply. Everything this guy has built so far has great feedback so it may be worth a shot. I'm going to ask him what his reserve is. I know a few members here really like his preamp for $250.00.
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39783&item=5700616836 How do you guys think this thing will sound? Also what is a good price for something like this? He has a reserve.

That position still belongs to the Klipschorn! ---------------- If you want to get technical the RF-7 is considered the Klipsch flagship speaker. It just so happens that they still manufacture their Heritage line if it is special ordered. That is not a flagship speaker.
  16. I have a feeling most of the people dismissing the RF-7 and screaming Heritage as loud as they can while holding their ears have never heard the RF-7s in their own home and have probably never given them a fair chance during a demo.
  17. Very cool. Thanks for hosting that for us.
  18. In car audio the slot port has been the key for a long time. I am suprised more home audio subs have not been using it. I have seen a pair of 10's in a slot ported box that sound like 15's in regular ported boxes.
  19. Spring is 15-20 minutes from me but I have no idea what I should be looking for. I also dont have a digital camera yet. Maybe I'll go look and ask some questions anyway just for the fun of it.
  20. My local dealer here in Houston won't have them in until the middle of June. I cant wait to hear them and find out a price.
  21. Pioneer TS-A6999 6"x9" Compression Horn Speakers For years, recording studios and live sound systems have used monitor speakers with compression horn drivers because they offer amazingly clear sound quality at high volumes. Now, these compression horn drivers from Pioneer bring this technology to your vehicle with the TS-A6999 3-way 6"x9" speakers. The speaker's design compresses sound in the horn's throat area which creates more air pressure. This leads to higher SPL and the result is better efficiency (and a louder speaker). The horn shape controls the direction of the sound, for wide dispersion off your rear window. The TS-A6999 speakers combine the dazzling highs of the compression horn tweeter with the kicking bass response of the foamed IMPP woofer and a compression horn supertweeter for high-fidelity, high-volume sound! Key Features: foamed IMPP woofer with rubber surround compression horn midrange with 1" titanium diaphram compression horn tweeter with 1/2" titanium diaphram frequency response 25-35,000 Hz recommended power range 2-60 watts RMS peak power handling 240 watts sensitivity 92 dB top-mount depth 3-3/8" 1-year warranty I am very interested in hearing these. I'll be out looking for them at my local car audio shops this week to have a listen.
  22. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=387451&perpage=20&pagenumber=1 I am willing to bet the guys bashing Klipsch have never even heard them. "The Klipsch I personally would never recommend. Their reference stuff all sounds terrible to me no matter how long their broken in. Far too much horn effect IMO." "As far as Klipsch goes ..... those RF's to my ears sound terrible (Sorry to those that like this sound) They have a very broadcast / P.A. / megaphone speaker sound . Not natural and pleasing." "Any one that fools themselves into believing these sound anything like corner horns has simply bought Klipsch hype. They sound nothing like the open airy live sound of the Klipsch corner / folded horns. That's a fact." "To me the Klipsch are way too colored in sound . When I think of those Klipsch I think/hear of someone putting their hands together around their mouth and shouting . Anything but a natural sound. " "The problem with most "Klipsch guys" is they have trained their ears to here this heavily colored timbre and high efficiency and equate that to being accurate reproduction." It goes on and on. I did not realize how many people out there thought so little of Klipsch. Maybe that thread just needs some of our more audio-savy members here to go educate them.
