  1. That guy can not review speakers, but I have not heard the iGroove so i cant comment about the hiss.
  2. no insults, the only complaining i did was here. I only mentioned headphones once and they said no and that was the end. I push things as hard as i can but i never force or insult people.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> HOWEVER, I may complain about it later as I did here.. from time to time. I hope thats ok with you, but I figured since we are selling similar stuff, we could share experiences.
  3. No, that "WAS" the plan until yesterday when some big wig lost his penis in his desk and decided to pull the plug on goodguys because he could not find it. I'm gonna kick his ***.
  4. EDIT: I found the price $280 Honeslty it seems a bit expensive for basically being 1/2 of the 2.0 system + 1 more tweeter + a dock station. Being that the 2.0's are 99 bucks, where the hell did the extra expense come from? Andy, please give me an explanation. Also, without four 2.5 woofers like the 2.0s, it may not have enough to top the im7s, Im guessing size was the major issue here.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  5. One couple was interested in a portable ipod system, I talked em out of the bose with ease, but I could not talk them into the 2.0's because they thought they were too big. I guess compared to the crappy im3's they were... which by the way ended up being the system they bought (180 bucks!) I then tried to talk them into some headphones if they were serious about the weight and they would not have it. In my opinion, there is no case where the im3's could be of any use to anyone! I mean for 180 bucks + light weight = headphones all the way. If you want to share your music, have it portable then you're living on the wrong planet, or you need NOT be a ***** (sorry for language) so you can carry some 2.0's which... for crying out loud, hardly weight ANYTHING. I'm still learning how to sell, but compusa displays SUCK, and people just dont know very much about what they want or need.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  6. OMFG ITS THE SHUFFLE TRUFFLE! I love that moive btw, I have the same question about the cherry finish, so if anyone can take a picture of both speakers next to eachother...Please do!
  7. volume should not be much of an issue, but one thing i noticed, at first it may appear as if they dont have much. The problem is the LED's only increment every ~10dB and they are logarithmic. so they dont get very loud until the last two lights. You can crank em up to full blast no problem and im sure once you do, you'll fell silly thinking they have only reasonable output. wireless? <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /> NO WAY. I actually explained this to a costumer today. wireless speakers is a very poor idea. each speaker would require A) Wireless receiver Power amplifier C) Digital to Analog converter D) Batteries considering the amp and a dac are very very expensive, imagine having one in each speaker! Then imagine trying to power a decent sized amp off only batteries. IT would last about 1 hour and take 8 batteries and then you need to buy new ones. Speaker wire is so elegant people always under appreciate its significance. It contains both analog signal and the power to the speaker. It could not be more perfect! If you had to make speakers wireless and maintain the same quality, then if that was EVEN possible, over the course of one year I would speculate you would spend over 100 times more money than the cost of a simple wired speaker.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  8. Yes 1/8" Stereo cable, and it should cost you 5-10 bucks depending on length. you can get it at almost any store. They work great hooked up to a PC or laptop, but if you have a high end soundcard, dont turn up the sound on your PC to 100% keep it below 80% and let the amp on the iFi do the work so you dont risk blowing the input stage.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  9. you cant beat the sub-12 for its price, not even with SVS. sorry svs, but the pb10 aint shit againt the sub-12.. there I said it!!!!! but I know im right.
  10. We were testing the RW-12 in our place the other day, My roommate just got one for 300 bucks! No box, but brand new... I think it was stolen to be honest, lol. It hits pretty good, about on par to my old PB12-ISD. The isd did shake things more at the 20hz zone, but the RW had just as much punch. However, the SVS build quality is vastly superior and honesty the RW-12 looks tiny next to the PB12-ISD and it feels light after lifting the SVS as well, but the Klipsch drive looks way cooler than the IDS driver and if you get a decent discount, the RW-12 is a lot less money when you factor in shipping on thoes SVS's.
  11. Im trying to sell em too at compusa, but we dont even have em on display. We're gonna change stuff around and try to make room for em. My suggestion was to get rid of the crappy sound sticks which are hooked up to the G5 and hook up the iFi's directly to it, with an iPod too! Which would show people how it can be used for both applications. Also, matching the iFi with the G5 is a no brainer.. 3000 $ computer should get the best speakers, and the iFi is also a matching silver.. common, how easy would it be to sell the iFi with a G5 if they were hooked up? People would have to be deaf not to buy em. thoughts?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I manged to push some 2.0s today, but no iFi.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5814062781&fromMakeTrack=true#ebayphotohosting Kinda of interesting that they are on ebay before the Klipsch website, lol.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  13. 007

    Which SUB?

keep the pb2+ and buy another one. two pb2+ will kick the shit out of anything in this thread not to mention the placement advantages.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  14. Yes, about 99% of the iFi's have a dead battery. They should have used a bigger battery, and I have heard roomers of a newer version with an LCD screen on the remote and with of course longer battery life. new batteries run about 2-3 bucks at radio shack.
  15. If you saw what I had to see everyday, you would be sick to death of ipods as well.
  16. Great story and I have to agree with you on every single point. The iFi is truly remarkable for its size. 5.1/7.1 is grossly overrated and the iFi is a fine example of what you can do for the same price if you limit the speakers to only 2 channel. IMO its better than the ultra 5.1 for music by a long shot, and I have owned both systems. Coincidently enough, I'm going to start a new part time job tomorrow while Im going to college. Its at a compusa/goodguys megastore just like the one you bought your system from. I will make damn sure the iFi is on display and working and I will try to talk everyone out of buying a bose sounddock if they so much glance at it. I'll make sure the iFi is working and is right next to the inferior bose system so that everyone can see how much of a better value it is. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  17. Not sure if this has been answered or not, but the real reason is counter intuitive Well this is off the top of my head so ill do my best. The dimples are actually designed to increase friction with the air, yes increase! You would think this slows down the flight of the ball and it does, but it also does something else which more than compensates for the air friction. The angle of the club when it strikes the ball causes a torque due to the friction between it and the ball on the ball which sets it spinning backwards very fast. The ball is also elevated and is traveling very fast away and slightly up from the golfer (depending on the club angle). As the ball flys through the air, the air on the top of the ball is moving a lot faster than the air on the bottom of the ball because the dimples are dragging it in the direction as the perceived wind relative to the golf ball or in other words, backwards. The air on the bottom is being pushed into the wind and they both tend to cancel out. So what happens is air on the top is moving faster than air on the bottom and you have Bernoullis principle in effect, or in other words, lift. The higher pressure below the ball is pushing it up and the lower pressure above does not push down as hard so the ball will stay in the air longer. Of course gravity and friction eventually win, but the dimples do account for longer air time and greater distance because flying through the air with a little more air resistance is a hell of a lot less friction than rolling on grass, and belive me, I have hit enough bad shots to know this! EDIT: Relating to the thread about the increase/decrease of drag, well i know for a fact on golf ball or base balls they are designed to grip the air to manipulate their trajectory. This is done by increasing the air friction. Why its used on ports for speakers, Im not sure at all. But increasing the non-conservative friction force to me seems like it would only decrease the velocity of the air which could possibly lower the amplitude of the noise of the moving air. thats a wild guess....
  18. no, the horrible problem is Apple.(period) Every freaking student at my school as a crappy iPod. Heck even my school's bookstore has an apple store inside it! I'm sick of seeing these freaking ipods and silly white ear buds, I hate iPods... The only cool thing about the iPod is the iFi.
  19. If your RF's are cherry, then you have to drop another 200 for the SVS in that finish, add 100 for shipping and you're looking at a 1500 dollar subwoofer which is the same price as a modestly discounted RWS-15 which you could get at many auth'ed dealers. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  20. What does a pair of Ultra2s and an amp cost? Just wondering. off the top of my head... $1200*2+$1400=$3800 + or -
  21. maple was my fav color. I really dislike the black ash, to me that color is a cop out and looks lame. Black lacquer would look nice and more wood finishes would be pretty sweet also.
  22. 2.1 to iFi = huge difference I also own both
