  1. I guess I listen to more music so I probably was judging the Ultra II against the sound I like for that. I'd be interested in finding out how the person you install the KI-362's likes them. I could not see how they could do anything but blow them away!
  2. I will also give another unsolicited prediction/opinion about the Premiere Reference that will replace the RF-7. I believe the advantage of the Premiere is that the fiberglass composite woofers will be non-denting unlike the ceremetalic(take a look at some of the ceremetalic woofers at your local retailer). I believe Klipsch made this change mostly due to the harder accessabilty of the woofer for replacement due to them having to remove the whole front baffle of the Reference Premiere for warrenty replacement issues. So the fiberglass is less delicate. I have never heard a fiberglass woofer on other brands that I liked as well as the Ceremetalic sound. I know that the RF-7's replacement looks really neat but I believe sonically it will prove to be less transparent due to it's fiberglass woofers vs. the ceremetalic. Final anaysis-Fiberglass tougher/Ceremetalic sonically superior.
  3. It is much easier for me to list the Klipsch that I've not owned rather than the models I have. The only Heritage models I've not owned are the Cornwall, Cornwall II and Klipsch Belle. Up until a couple years ago our local Ultimate Electronics (formerly "Audio King") allowed you to get full value from your speaker purchase to upgrade within a year. I have owned most everything made by Klipsch especially from 1988 to present-multiple pairs of the same models no less. Up until and including the RB-75 I can give first hand opinions on most models built until now excluding some of the very smallest models in the KG series. I'm no engineer but I am a "Rainman" when it comes to specs and comparisons between almost any combination of models. I can even tell you what I like and dislike about the new Premiere model that will replace the RF-7 soon. The new Premiere model will still have two 10 inch woofers and a 1.75 inch titanium tweet but the woofers are made of a fiberglass composite rather than ceremetalic and the Premiere has the bullet-shaped dustcaps instead of the flatter domed shape dustcap. They look really nice BUT-I don't like that the horn is molded into the front baffle plate like the RF-35 etc. I just don't like the idea of having to unscrew a huge baffle plate to remove the drivers or woofers should you need to replace one. It is nice to be able to pull the woofer or horn out of the speaker without taking off the whole front of the speaker in my opinion.
  4. The bass response was not important to me I have the ksw-15 and RW12 for that. I am just speaking of overall detail. The KI-362 is a 3-way like the Khorn but with the titanium tweet and mid I found it alot more detailed. I actually like my RF-7's better than my horn for detail. I bought 3 pair of RF-7 in 2001 and sold them because I found the midrange was too recessed for my liking. I listened again to the RF-7's at Ultimate electronics this year and re-bought 3 pair. Although Klipsch has not listed any change in the RF-7 the 2004 crossovers are definately different-much more forward midrange than the first models.
  5. P.S.-I do not want to offend K-Horn lovers-I loved my K-horns I just wanted to tell people about my experience with the KI-362's because I have not seen much on the forum regarding Klipsch Professional speakers.
  6. No I have not posted in quite awhile. I forgot to mention though that people might want to consider the professional Klipsch if they really want the best of the old and new Klipsch sound. I just bought KI-362's that have a k-792 1 inch titanium tweeter (a titanium upgrade of the K-79 used in the Chorus I & II and KLF-30 and a 1 1/2 inch titanium midrange horn the K-52 ti ( a upgraded version of the KLF-30 mid-horn) and a 15 inch k-48-kp woofer. I know I'll make some people mad by stating this but here goes-the KI-362 replaced my K-horns-at 102db efficiency they are not rated quite as efficient but they put out higher decibals spec-wise and I sure can't tell any less transparency than my 1994 horns had. They are more detailed than the horns were due to the titanium tweet and mid. At just over $3000 I really can't see why anyone would pay $7000 for the horns-just my opinion mind you. I also own 3 pair of RF-7's and 3 pair of Heresy II's-in which I've replaced the K-76 tweets with K-79's-much brighter and sound better than my old Heresy's did. Alot of the Klipsch horn's cost is due to cabinet size-my KI-362's weigh 71 lbs each-less than half of what my horns weighed-that is part of the reason horns cost more-another reason is the horns have a very nice wood finish-the KI-362's are plain old black-but the sound is what I really care most about.
  7. If one were to use all RF-7's,Fronts, Rears and a pair for front and rear center channels the RF-7's would blow the Ultra II away! At 102db eff the RF-7 is both more transparent and more dynamic than the Ultra II. I have heard the ultra II system and I do like it but it does not have the fullness of sound that the RF-7's produce.
  8. The RF-7 would be better than the Ultra II system if one was to use all RF-7's-RF-7's front and back- a pair of RF-7's for the front and back center channels-this is a seamless as you can get with better dynamics to also.
  9. I'd be interested in anyone that has K-61-K Forte II midrange horns that are in mint condition for sale. I would also buy K-75-K Forte II tweeter horns in mint condition. Thanks
  10. The truth about the Tangent is that it is a Heritage speaker. The Tangent 500 and 400 use the same tweeter, midrange horn and woofer as the Heresy-check the spec sheets on the Classic section. The only thing that made the Tangents lower priced was the fact they were only offered in a black finish. The Tangent 400 and 500 are a larger boxed ported Heresy and the Tangent 300 is identical to the KG4. The Tangents may not be as pretty but they perform like any other Klipsch speaker.
  11. Klipsch will be replacing the RF-7 model with the RF-75-this model would have the new ceremetalic woofers and new design. They will also be introducing an even larger floorstander-the RF-95. This model will have a 12 inch integrated horn with a 2 inch titanium driver. This model will also have two 12 inch woofers. This model will be reminiscent of the Epic CF-4 but will be narrower. You heard it here first!
  12. I am not replying to any particular person but I thought I'd throw this out for anyone interested in future product. Klipsch will be replacing the RF-7 with the RF-75 with the improved ceremetalic driver and new look. Klipsch is also going to introduce the RF-95 that will have a 12 inch horn with a 2 inch titanium driver-also including 2-12 inch ceremetalic woofers. This model would be larger and reminiscent of the Klipsch Epic CF-4. Inside information-you heard it here first.

    epic series

I was just looking for another pair of CF-4's. Last week I bought a pair on ebay in brand new condition from a 70 year old gentleman for $1300 including the shipping! After shipping costs I probably only paid about $800 for the pair-I was very fortunate. The guy said they were in flawless condition and he was not kidding! They had not even a scuff anywhere on them. I hope I should live as long as to get another deal like this one.

    epic series

    What models are you selling?
  15. It is good that you made mention of both of these men Dodger, because indeed they will be missed. If people were more aware of their mortality it would be a better world.
  16. Foldedhorn, this is a very predictable reply from a person who would choose to quote Karl Marx. Guess what!-Now that Karl has past on he found out there was a God after all!!!!!!-too late.
