  1. No, the sound of the popping doesnt fluctuate with the change in volume via my power amp. The popping is hit & miss & very low in volume, it also appears to go away within 5-10 minutes after the sub has been playing.
  2. I disconnected the inputs & their was no popping however since there is no power to drive the sub, by doing this it still doesn't discount the fact that the problem is within the sub. The popping only occurs within the first few minutes when it recieves a signal.
  3. I recently noticed that there is a low popping sound coming through the rear firing driver of my RSW-15. It can only be heard when standing very close to the sub & the popping goes away after the 5-10 minutes of operation & doesnt appear to have any effect on the subs performance. I have checked the cable, driver & the power cord & everything appears to be fine. There are no local Klipsch dealers in my area so I dont have the option of taking the sub in for testing. My guess is that it must be related to the internal amp, has anyone else encountered this problem. Thanks.

  11. I am the original owner of a mint pair of black RF-7s. I purchased them in August 02 from an authorized Klipsch dealer, & have added the DeanG crossover mod in February of 2005. I have all of the original packaging material as well. I accept Paypal & would be willing to ship at the buyers expense. Selling price is $1,300, firm & pictures are available upon request. Shipping from MO, Zip 64834.

  14. You frigging people kill me. You wouldn't know Audiophile equipment if it was right in front of you. Klipsch are a "Bright" speaker, mainly do to the horns & the high SPL, that is why a lot of people use tube amps with them. If you are going with SS components you need a warm sounding amp coupled with warm cables/interconnects. Hell from what I have seen on this thread, I have more $$ in cables/interconnects than you do in your entire cheesy systems.
  15. You clipped that "Bright & Cheesy" Yamaha receiver. Get in the game, buy seperates!
  16. There was a lot of marketing hype about the release of this DVD & myself & others were really excited about it's release. It was suppose to have had DTS, which it didn't, I would have preferred PCM. I purchased this last week & have yet to play a full track. I have over 40 concert DVD's & this is by far the worst sounding one that I have ever owned. What is the use of have quality components within our systems, this thing takes me back to the sound of eight-tracks. I am sorry, I can respect your desire & loyalty to stand behind a group that you admire, however with me it all comes down to sound reproduction. After all why spend thousands of dollars on equipment only to be let down by lackluster software.
  17. Parasound or B & K, think warmth, the horns like warmth. Don't stop there Cardas interconnects/cables are the icing on the cake.
  18. If your pocket book can handle it, buy the Denon 5900 & don't look back. At +27lbs. it has all the whistles & bells that put it way ahead of anything in it's class.
  19. Cardas & Klipsh is a marriage made in heaven. However the average person on this forum believes in using a receiver instead of a a power amp. If you are going to run solid state components & want to gain the most out of Klipsch products, you must start with a warm sounding power amp.The More power the better, there is no substitute for power. Next up in the equation are your cables/interconnects. Cardas uses silver & they add warmth to help tame down the horns. I just can't believe how people on this forum continue to mis-match components & cables!
  20. Obviously you don't have much of an an audio system or you don't have much of an ear for sound. I have been a Rush fan since the beginning, dating back to the mid seventies & this Concert DVD is one of the worst I have ever heard. I don't want to hear crowd noise out of all channels, nor do I care to see a bunch of crazed South Americans jumping up & down. Where is Geddy lee's voice, futhermore where is the mike on Neil Peart's drums. I have a very expensive audio/video system, which reveils every flaw. Bottom line this is garbage, I am on a crusuade to go after the sound engineer on this POS!
