  1. The brass inserts are installed in the pedestals. Now they can sit on the pedestals, spikes or sliders.
  2. Painting has begun. Now to let it dry, sand and shoot the final coat.
  3. One woofer and one passive radiator
  4. The speakers are 1968 JBL C50 Olympus. I replaced the metal horn with custom CNC machined bubinga smith horns. I then added the JBL 2405 tweeter to the top.
  5. I like the outlaw. It allowed me to remove the tuner and phono pre to clear some space. It also has plenty of power to bring the yellow Mar and Daniel speakers to life.
  6. There was an Olive music server and a tuner. The Outlaw has its own tuner, so I took that out and the server hard drive crashed.
  7. My wife went out of town for mother's day. I got the gift of staying home and playing in my audio sandbox. Here is a picture of the sun room with the Outlaw Audio RR2150 I just got from dloc13. Kind of over kill for the horns but the little yellow speakers love the power.
  8. The interview went well, but I didn't get the job. I did get a call that, even though I didn't get the job, they were very impressed with me and to be sure and watch their site to see if there is something else I may be interested in. Also, if anything comes up, they will be sure and contact me. They thought I would be a great fit and bring new and fresh ideas to the company. Oh well, it is what it is. Life goes on.
  9. I have ordered a waterfall bubinga veneer. This is going to look awesome when finished!
  10. A little update. The factory uses 2x4 bracing. I have routered out my own design. It centers on the woofer, to better center on the back and reduce vibrations.
  11. Yes, stock drivers. I hope to build a factory correct pair and make them one off with the finish.
  12. Yes, a pair of Cornwall III speakers using Baltic birch, and I will veneer them in something exotic TBD.
  13. It has already begun. The smell of fresh cut Baltic birch and saw dust fill the air. It's going to be a fun weekend.
  14. Receiver arrived this evening. Dloc13 is a standup guy and honest seller. Now I must go play with my new toy.
  15. One is better than none. I would love two, or even more, a single 1502 or maybe a 1202 for the anticipated size difference.
  16. Looking forward to having it hooked up to a pair Mark and Daniel Maximus Mini speakers. Tiny things that can handle 200 watts RMS.
  17. Mine was the summers of my junior and senior year. I worked at Ingalls shipyard putting fiberglass insulation in Naval ships being built. No air, working below deck in high humity and higher temperatures. Because I was working with fiberglass, I wore long sleeve denim shirts. I was soaked with sweat that helped the fiberglass to stick to me. The upside was the pay. When minimum wage was a couple bucks, I was making $12 an hour.
  18. I saw these pictures posted on Facebook. Josef Kristofoletti says he found this in an abandoned storage locker. Looks like speakers I have only seen in the Klipsch Museum.
  19. Not sure why, but I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Couldn't go back to sleep so I have some time to kill before I take my grandson to school. On a bright note, I did buy the Outlaw RR2150 from DLOC13 out of the garage classifieds. New toys are always cool.
  20. Thanks for the intel. I totally understand. I have several pieces of SAE gear and my Dad's Pioneer system, that hold more sentimental value than dollars. Sorry for all the questions, but I tend to do a lot of research before buying. Better information yields better decisions and less flipping. Thanks again.
  21. Wish me luck. I have a job interview this afternoon. Hopefully the good vibes I experienced in Hope/Bodcaw have influenced my entire life. It was great to see everyone and spend time with like minded audio enthusiasts.
  22. I saw the answers but was wondering, why the Marantz over this one? This one has way more functionality. So is it the sound or lack of? Same with the Heresy, did he no longer have speakers or he did but prefers another amp over this one? I don't want to be just another guy buying only to turn around and sell it. I am looking for a long term solution for one of my systems. All my other amps are low power tubes. I need a high power solid state amp and I like the other features.
