  1. even if they are expansive in france they sound better than other speaker of the same price. one of the advantage of the klipsch speaker is that they don t need a powerfull amp to sound good and loud. i think the best for you is to hear several speakers with the same gear behind, so you will test only speakers. all people don t like the same think. the first time i heard klipsch speakers it was the SF1 in 1999.it sound so good, i cannot wait so i bought several set of promedia until i have enought money to buy some month ago a full synergy system. all klipsch speakers have something special that make sounds them warm. if you listen to klipsch speakers, you will buy them
  2. and how your sub are hooked to the receiver? you use the lfe/sub out?or something else?
  3. i think it come from the receiver. it has always done that with this receiver?
  4. oups...there is also a big pop when you switch the source on the receiver... i ve read your post too fast. when you switch the sub off it s normal but there...i don t know.
  5. i think it s normal. i ve a tiny KSW10 it make also a pop when i switch it off.
  6. or in 7.1 with 2 extra speakers in the empty corner (the right top and left bottom corner)
  7. it can work in 5.1 and the sub will be placed at the right bottom corner.(at the place of the rear center)
  8. that s exactly what i was thinking about!!!
  9. the best is may be to test different setup. so you will be able to choose a setup that sound and look good for all your family.
  10. if your wife don t allow you to change the location of the sofas, you can place you tv against the wall of the kitchen. the rear speaker will be on the two little walls between each windows. and one of the front speaker between the tv and the fireplace and the other at the end of the bar. it s not a very good solution of course but it can match the waf.
  11. if it remains only 2 month before the end of the waranty send your a/v receiver to get repair.you should not hesitate too much. i don t think they will give you a brand new receiver. but the receiver you ll get will work. if you try to fiw the problem your self it can take some time and once the waranty will be finished the only solution left will be to buy a new receiver. so make up your mind quickly
  12. the last time it was at a cinema when watching "les choristes". unfortunatly for you i think it s not released elsewhere than in france.

  14. on short distance there is no difference between coax and fiber.the coax will be worst if it is 350 meter long and next to an enormous electrical equipement and the fiber will be worst if you don t handle it with a lot of care. the fiber may have one advantage: it work also in water without any protection...but amps or dvd players don t so it s not very important

This would mean you are losing some of the information when it's being transferred from the DAC to your amp, correct? And about running fiber optics for phone lines, I believe that's for 2 reasons. 1) Fiber optics aren't vulnerable to EMI interference or other distortion and 2) I don't think there's anything that travels faster than light. ---------------- there is a third reason, it s the most important because it allows phone operator to lose less money: on a long distance there is less loss on an optic fiber than on a copper wire.so to transmit some data on a long distance you need less power with a fiber than with a coax. forthermore you said that a fiber carries only 90% of the signal. it don t matter at all because with digital signat, 90% of a 1 is still a 1 and 90% of a 0 is still a 0.
  16. you re right 007, i think placebo is the word to use.
  17. you can buy a promedia 5.1 or best, do like me, buy a synergy( or reference but it s more expansive) system with an amp.

  19. if you notice a difference by using one or the other there is a problem
  20. the coaxial cable and the optical fiber have their own weakness: the coaxial cable is sensitive to magnetic wave or electrical phenomenon but the data carried on it are digital so it has almost no effect. the fibre can be broken very easily and the extremity of the FO must be very clean. any way if you use optical or coaxial you should have the same quality if you use them carrefuly.
  21. if you want a good but cheap solution and if you want to have satellites you could try the promedia 5.1 ultra. but i think the idea of dougdrake is better.
  22. you may not need a crossover for your sub if you can set the cut off frequency for bass on your AVreceiver/amp.
  23. hi juba310 you re right, good stands are expansive. bookshelves are a solution if you miss some space. or if you have a wife do you know the WAF?
  24. and once your probleme solved try to avoid touching the speakers it could damage them.
  25. it may come from the amp or the source. try to hook some other speakers on your amp and see if one of the speakers move or make some noise. does it happen when you play something?
