  1. I have two pairs (total of 4) ALK Universal "CornScala Wall" crossovers for sale. These are the newest iteration from ALK, as seen on Al's site. http://alkeng.com/ Both of them have less than 5 hours on them. Really. These are great crossovers, and sound fantastic, but I just need to step back in my system needs and assess what I really want to do in the long term..... Would very much like forum members to benefit from this sale. Will be very well packed and fully guaranteed....$300.00 per pair, shipped to your door.... Edit: Shipping only to CONUS. No international shipping.
  2. Have seen some relatively positive comments about this product, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with it. Thanks. http://www.amazon.com/Howard-Restor-A-Finish-Walnut-8oz/dp/B009E2ALWM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1406399225&sr=8-12&keywords=howard%27s+restore-a-finish
  3. I would like to find some actual original Klipsch ads or brochures that I can frame and display in my listening space. Most of the stuff I've seen on ebay and elsewhere is a photo of the original, or a copy of the original, etc, etc. Don't want that. I would like the original, and am willing to pay for them. Cornwall, Belle, Heresy, or a combo. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!
  4. Anyone else having issues with this app today? I can't sign in, or access any content.
  5. Just bought a beautiful Pioneer receiver, SX-1250, awesome condition, 165 watts/channel. However, as is the case with many of these vintage components, the speaker connectors on the rear are the sketchy spring loaded types that look like they will only accept a maximum of 14 awg. There is no way I'm hooking up any of my Heritage speakers with 14 awg wire....Any suggestions on how to modify these connectors or other thoughts? Thanks.
  6. 1980 Belle's, all original, AA crossovers. Will update the crossovers at some point.... Played several selections from Steely Dan's "Aja", Clapton's "Unplugged", and a few from Anita Baker.... Well, all I have to say is, holy sh*t. Absolutely stunning. Amazing depth and realism. The bass is better than I expected, and I'm happy about that....Wow.
  7. Have a chance to pick up a Marantz 1060 integrated amp, and a Pioneer SX-1250 receiver, both of which in superb condition. Beautiful vintage look, silver faces, the whole deal....However, am wondering about how these play with Heritage speakers, namely Heresy, Cornwall, Belle's....Anyone with experience here? Thanks. Jim

  11. First, an absolutely pristine Marantz 3250B pre-amp...won't tell you how much, cause it'll make you sick with envy.... Secondly, this very cool Electrovoice Aristocrat single. Didn't have a lot of time to check it out, but it works, and is all original, including the finish. Has a few bumps and bruises, but hey, it's cool. Waiting on a price from the guy. will post more pics and details later if I acquire it.... Electric candle on top not included.....
  12. So I acquired a pair of 1983 Cornwall I cabinets (empty) CBR, a few weeks ago, and have been slowly but surely acquiring parts, starting the wiring process, and investigating my refinishing options, which included getting them veneered. Had two estimates for the veneer, nothing exotic, of $500 and $450 for the pair. Have given thought to sanding them down, stain, Watco, other oils...etc, etc....... But then, an epiphany.....Why not (sort of) (cosmetically at least) LEAVE THEM ALONE???! Holy smokes, who woulda thought? Do I really like that almost golden brown toast colored cabinet...Yes. Do I think that the cigarette burns on the tops of both have some stories to tell....Yes. Do I really mind if they look kind of beat, have been through a lot, but still will play hard.....No. And especially since practically no one but me will see them....Will they become my favorites that I will take care of, and cherish, even though they are a little rough around the edges....No doubt. So what the heck, I'll do my thing on the inside, make them sound great, and know that I resisted a primal urge to refinish on the outside, and left the beautiful patina alone, when it's the inner soul that really counts....

  14. Picked up a full set of these last week from a friend. Would like to know how to go about polishing or rehabbing the metal edge banding on these for the various scratches, dings, as shown in the photos. These are actually some of the better surfaces. Can these be polished (mostly) out with a random orbital sander, and if so, what kind of pad to use? If not, do they need to be taken to a metal shop to be "dipped" or????? I just don't know enough about this. Thanks for your help.
  15. Have been wondering this for a while, and just remembered to post it....So many questions, so little time... Anyway, I have an Oppo BDP-103 Blu Ray source outputting to an Emotiva USP-1 pre-amp, hooked to my tube amp (ampsandsound Stereo 15 Special Edition). The Oppo and the Emotiva both have volume controls, the amp does not. Wondering where I should be doing the primary volume control on my end, either from the Oppo or Emo, and how the other should be statically set?
  16. After a rather scary start to the afternoon with a confirmed tornado sighting just west of Indy, the event for employees and the rest of us in "Klipsch Nation" got off to a great start with a couple of sets by a very good band, bleedingkeys, whiich was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. Over an hour of excellent music powered by a large compliment of Klipsch monitors. Robert Mathis of the Indianapolis Colts was also in attendance, enjoying the music and then graciously signing autographs for everyone. Very nice guy. Broke up into several groups, and were taken on a tour by the lovely Jill, which included the engineering and design spaces, headphone lab, new Reference Soundbar demo, Reference separates demo, Palladium demo, and customer showroom, and all were terrific. We were then led by the esteemed Mr. Jim Hunter and given a brief Klipsch history lesson which was awesome, and then given a demo of Klipschorns with some of PWK's original recordings from back in the day, which was absolutely the highlight of the day for me, and for some others. Last but not least was the anechoic chamber, a truly unique experience.... Can't thank the folks at Klipsch enough for a very fine event, and their gracious invitation to myself and others from Reddit and the Klipsch forum. Great time. Jim
  17. Absolutely perfect condition, solid walnut, powers up and plays, 1964 Curtis Mathes "Lexington" model 2714. Beautiful woodwork that needs nothing but some Liquid Gold, all tubes original. Incredible score IMHO for 50 bucks. Will post pics of this beauty after I get it looking all pretty.... for now, here's a link. http://curtismathes.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=115819052
  18. I have seen a couple of pairs of these for sale recently, and had never heard of the "Signature Edition". What makes them special, and do any of you folks own them?

  20. I'm able to find most of the caps I need for various speakers from one manufacturer, but there is at least one, and maybe two values that they don't make. Is there much of an issue with mixing brands? Cap types and tolerances are the same. Thanks!
  21. Have some interest in some items in the south Cincy area, and was wondering if anyone could do a pickup there and relay to Indy, where I will pick up? I'll take care of your gas money and bring a six pack or a bottle of wine.....
