  1. Claude was on his way North for a job related meeting and was kind enough to drop off some parts for my latest project. thanks Claude for going out of your way!!
  2. I know pretty much nothing about the Klipsch KLF speakers, and I see them come up for sale quite often. 10's, 20's, 30's.... Was wondering what the consensus (really, did I say that?) is about these speakers, how they would compare to Heritage speakers, and if there is a good reference point to do more reading and research on these...thanks!!
  3. For all of us midwesterner's, this looks like a pretty good time!! http://bbqribfest.com/
  4. Would like to find some empty Cornwall and Heresy cabinets, hopefully in decent condition. I'm in the South Bend, IN area, so general vicinity would be nice. Would definitely do a road trip if it's reasonable....thanks.
  5. I have a $400 gift card, plus a $150 gift card to be used on the dell.com site, for anything. Can be used for laptops, desktops, anything at all. I will throw in additional funds if needed to trade for what you offer. I am interested in speakers such as Heresy's, Cornwall's, Forte's and other non-current models. Also interested in parts, horns, drivers, woofers, empty cabinets. PM me if you are interested. btw, I also have an Emotiva 40% discount card to be used toward any of their processors....I was holding it for the XMC-1, (where the card would be worth $800), but that whole situation is getting stale real quick for me....
  6. Recently purchased an empty pair of Cornwall I cabinets for a summer project (another one....). Anyway, it looks as though someone previous to me was going to try to convert these to Cornwall II's, as the tweeter cutouts in the motor boards have been made to accomodate K-79-K's, and the mid horn cutout has been slightly lengthened as well. I'm going to go ahead with this mod, due to the fact these cutouts had already been made, and it would be a serious headache to remove and replace the motorboard in each. So....I just want to make sure that the K-601 horn will fit the modded cutout. The dimensions of the cutout are 10 5/16 inches across, 3 7/16 inches tall.. Also, is there a link or somewhere I can go in the future to find technical dimensions of components? thanks for any help. The woofer cutout has not been changed. BTW, any other suggestions or words of advice are very welcome.....as always. Jim
  7. Obviously not original. Can't read any markings on the caps. Will replace the caps anyway, but thought I'd ask. Might help if I included the pics...

  9. I mean, they're nice, but $760? or more? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181419779053&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:3160
  10. And was wondering if there's anyone in the area that would be interested in showing off their Klipschorns, Belle's, La Scala's....I own Cornwalls and Heresy's, but have never heard any other Heritage speakers. Would love to meet another member of the forum and experience some other great PWK speakers. Let me know if you have a half hour or so, I promise not to impose....Thanks very much!! Jim

  13. I also have this posted on the Emotiva web site... Seriously, maybe, maybe, 10 hours.....sounds great, perfect condition, original box, etc, etc. I'm just out of HT. I love the amp but I'm moving on. Great references via ebay and other places. Prefer local pickup to 46544 but will ship with buyer paying. $800.00. Thanks! I will also be happy to meet half way within 150 miles or so of South Bend, IN.
  14. So, from recent restorations, I have two K-33-E woofers (currently being reconed), and two K-34-E's....I've pretty much decided that HT is a waste of time for me. I don't watch enough movies or TV to make it worthwhile. But, I love a good thump in the chest bass, not excessive, but there.....you know what I mean....I have Cornwalls that almost get there, but not quite. So....thinking that I should put these extra woofers (not necessarily all) to good use, (ok, maybe two and sell the other two). I'm honestly not a great DIY guy, so looking for something fairly turn-key, easy to put together, but very good quality. Also, I honestly don't know what else I would need for other components...a crossover? an internal powered amp? Just gathering knowledge on this, so please bear with me. Thanks for any help. I've looked briefly at the Tuba HT sub....recommended? Of course I want to match as closely as possible with the Cornwalls....again, thanks...Jim

  17. Or any other place internal? Looking at a pair that have the labels missing. Thanks.
  18. Just about everything....tweets, mid, woofers, crossovers, horns, etc, etc. Got a couple of cabinets that need to be filled.....Thanks!! Jim
  19. I have a line on a couple of pairs of Heresy cabinets, not sure yet whether I or II. And don't know yet the condition as this is a new connection, but if anyone is interested, let me know. I've put feelers out for cabinets in a number of spots as I need a good summer project, and came across a nice fellow. If you all have anything in the way of a pair of Heritage cabinets that need some love and affection and parts, please let me know.
  20. Just received these beauties today, and couldn't resist.....I have always loved just looking at pictures of units like this, so it's quite a different feeling when I'm actually making the post....86 Heresy II's Walnut Oil. Almost, just almost, flawless (cosmetically.....). Superb pattern and grain matching. Will have them wired up in the morning with Santana or Steely Dan. I'm very interested to compare them (with my own flawed hearing) to my Cornwall I's and II's. Should be a fun weekend. And I would be remiss if I failed to mention that I also received the incredible, brand new, freaking heavy piece of iron and wire and tubes, the ampsandsound Stereo 15 Special Edition. Will post pics of that sweetheart tomorrow when I pick my jaw up off the floor....
  21. Would really like to get my hands on 4 of these if possible. I called Klipsch this morning and they are out, and will not be replenished....Bummed. I'm striking out all over today!!
  22. Would like to buy two Cornwall II input terminal plates as shown. Don't need the crossovers, just the plates. Please let me know if you have a pair of these, or know where I can purchase. Thanks very much.
  23. Purchased a new pair of ALK crossovers for my CW II's. I have no problem with the wiring and setup of the new ones, but would like some guidance on how best to remove the old crossovers from the input terminal plate and the printed circuit board so that I can retain and reinstall that plate. Looks like I have to de-solder the terminals from the board?
  24. with AL crossovers, all original, any issues or concerns to be considered? Decent shape, not great, but ok...
