This is just a suggestion. Richard, have you tried switching pci slots? Even switching whatever device is giving you conflicting irq's. You're probably having a harder time than normal upgrading parts because you got a DELL. Even an IBM, COMPAQ ect. because they build pc's with they're own special techniques. I'm not ragging your system, DELL is an excellent company but i think if you buy one of their machines, further down the road you will have a harder time upgrading individual parts.

New x-overs, on/standby switch, mp3 player jack and headphone jack. Sounds like the extra 50 bucks is well worth it in my opinion. Up here in Canada i payed $389.00 + 15% tax for the original pros,AND I'M STILL HAPPY!!!

Don't panic dwb122 Either return your sblive and get the AE or just try out your new card. I'm willing to bet it's still gonna sound great. I don't think soundblaster is crap. I got regular x-gamer and am very satisfied with dvd's and games. Although when the time comes to get new s/c i think i will try the AE just to hear what all the fuss is about.

Thanks for the input Seb. His existing bose speakers are for two other rooms, one behind the HT room and another upstairs (main floor). There for his wife so she can listen to radio during the day.(he wants to hook up everything in one system) so that would mean he needs to be able to hook up 9 speakers and one sub (his 4 bose, 4 other speakers, center speaker and sub). He was thinking of encasing the speakers in the walls (not a done deal yet) would he get bad performance by doing this?

I 've got sblive x-gamer, and i just started to lower my pc volume to 50% and bumping up the pro's to 75/80%. SOUNDS FANTASTIC, NO HISS Although when i watch dvd's i bring the pc volume up to 75/90%. Just last sunday i watched The Matrix (again ) and pc was 80%, pro's were 75% and man, that's the loudest i could stand watching a movie.c> My sub is located under my desk/feet and not only was the floor shaking, so was my chair. My printer's paper tray was making a lot of noise, maybee i should contact HP and ask for a quieter tray

Hi all!! I was talking to my friend last weekend and he told me he was getting started on an addition to his house and in one room he wants to turn into a HT. I asked him what he was thinking about for sound and he didn't have a clue. He's got a budget of 3-5 thousand cnd. for audio. Any suggestions from you guys on amps, speakers, subs. He wants to hook up a projection unit and wants to be able to hook up his existing bose speakers (2 in another room and 2 more on 2nd level) to the same setup along with the HT speakers. Any suggestion??? Give the names of manufacturers or any reputable audio reviewers. I wanted to ask you guys first, if i don't get any ideas i will post in the Home Theater section.c>

I think Klipsch would sell a lot less "sets" of promedias if they sold the sub seperatelly at a really good price, it makes sense to sell the sub for 200 (i'm not sure on that though, but i know it's high). If i wanted to buy a seperate sub, i'd be tempted with something bigger than 6.5" (even though it is dual) DON'T GET ME WRONG, I THINK THIS SUB IS KICK-ARZ But i'm sure there are a lot of others out there too.

Just thought i'd post my thoughts. Although it's true, i do find if i crank my pro's way up there's a lot of treble in the sound (playing mp3's). That's about over 75% volume. But still i've come to appreciate the crispness of these speakers. When i work on my puter and have the tv tuner on, at low levels the sound is just superb. Even my friend's noticed the clearness of the sound. My tunes?: From CSNY and other 60's stuff to Deep Purple, Sabbath, Slayer, Motorhead(Orgasmatron kills on my pro's),and finally Hole, Kid Rock and a little bit of Limp Bizkit(not to much though). My pro's can deffinately fill my cravings for earripping sound. Don't even get me started with gaming, there's nothing better. (in the pc speaker dep.) Of course you can't compare with a receiver and HT speakers, but if a person wants HT sound, they should equip themselves with HT stuff. You can't make your $30,000 sports car run like a $150,000 sports car, unless your pour tones of money on it and realize that you should have bought the $150,000 car in the first place. (price is just an example) These babies ROCK!!!

This give me an idea ! I'll try to make a wallpaper with Klipsch and duct tape as theme. It'l take a few days, i have to borrow my friends dig. camera, and have to receive my speakers back. (hope my sub works) Sounds like it could be interesting I might as well ask it (everyone else does) IS THIS THE 10th PAGE ALREADY ??!??
