  1. ric, yes I like B&K with RF7's. Go for the 200.2. If you are thinking of purchasing new, the store should let you audition the amp with your speakers.
  2. I run the same setup. You should definitely set the new RF7s as sides. I put them to the side and a little bit behind the sweet spot. I use them for multi channel music and movies. I run them with a B&K Ref 50 and 200.5. They sound great! You really need to move them around, try toeing them in, until you find the best way to set them. I ended up toeing them all in toward the center, then moved them out so they don't point directly at the listener. Congratulations! You will like them.
  3. Hey, there are a bunch of Klipschers out here on the Left Coast! I was beginning to think they all lived way over thar beyond the big river M. sx
  4. BruinsFan, I started at one foot and started toeing in and pulling them out. As I recall, the bass was amplified by the wall at one foot. The speaker was more balanced as I pulled it out and toed it in.
  5. Hello BruinsFan, Yes room size is an issue. I did not want to walk through the middle of the room to avoid the speakers either (MAF). I have my rf7s about 16 inches from the wall, but they are toed in toward the center of the room. So that seems to give the ports some more room to breath.
  6. I use rf7s front and back. I have a room of similar size and listen to a lot of music and movies. I used dispersion surround speakers, and they just confused my ears with all the reflections off the sheetrock walls.
  7. Have you looked at a Vanguard Bond fund - maybe even a municipal bond fund. Your time frame is short, to invest in stocks to buy a house. And bonds might get you better than the bank's 1%.
  8. Try a little toe in, along with moving the mains away from the back wall. Does that sound like a song or something?
  9. I don't know if all sony es is equal. But I thought the 333ES that I used for some time was a little bright. I biased the eq heavily toward the low end and middle. It was very handy though, the way sony components would talk, and power on other parts.
