  1. I agree. A member felt the need to PM me about some advice on amps for fear of being pounced on for his equiptment preferences by certain other members.
  2. Speaking of the 2 sets of terminals on the speaker. If you are running them conventional do you connect to the lf or hf? Maybe it does not matter with the jumper between them?
  3. Hey m00n, I was checking out your dedicated theater. Looking damn good! You have me wanting to convert one of my spare bedrooms, not quite to that extent, but I'm afraid they may be to small.
  4. Hate to break it to Allen Songer, but "Dr. Dre" was a pretty normal kid that was a Make-up wearing priss in a group similar to the Commadores before he made up this whole "gansta role" that he portayed to finally make a career. Staight outta North Compton middle-class suburb. Anyway they all screwed themselves with that group, Cube was the only one smart enough not to sign the contract put forth. But Dre has redeemed himself and is a wonderful businessman now. P.S. I dont care for rap I just pay attention to see who they are copying now.
  5. AVman mentioned 40hz roll-off-to-sub. The Denon 3803 lets you opt to play full range ( In 5.1 and DTS also) with mains and sub then just set the sub for its cross. It has a Pure Direct mode for 2 channel listening that shuts down all video circuits and whatever isnt being used for better quality, couple that with the tone defeat mode on and you're in business. Sounds really good on music and awesome on movies.
  6. I thought it was interesting that the Best Buy by my house started carrying the new line of Klipsch. Only the lower models of the Reference though. They said they cannot order any higher models. Thats the first time I've seen them in a department store.
  7. You can get the Criss cd on BMG website for $22, looked it up and listened to a couple of the songs a little bit ago. They actually have a good selection, just dont buy anything at their regular price. The intro offer is 12 cds for the price of one (plus shipping $2 or so). You get 7(only shipping) off the bat then you have to buy one(regular price $17.95) within a year I think then you get your other 4( only shipping again $2). Sweet deal. They also have specials all the time, the only time I buy, like buy one regular get unlimited for $2.99 or something. All CDs brand new in plastic wrapper. www.bmgmusic.com

  9. What about the B&K REF 200.2 (200 by 2 @ about $1200)?
  10. The concert DVD's are awesome. I'm jammin Eric Clapton Unplugged, Tom Petty-High Grass Dogs, Eagles-Hell Freezes Over, James Taylor-Live at the Beacon, Jim Croce, Pink Floyd-The Wall, Tesla-Five Man Acoustical Jam, Blues Traveler-Thinnest of Air, Billy Joel-At Yankee Stadium, Matchbox 20, the list goes on and on and on. ooh, B.B. King-Blues Summit Concert Only in stereo, none of that dolby stuff. Save that for movies.
  11. The sound just seems to dissipate in such a large area. I go after realism, I listen to all types of music (jazz, rock, folk) and I want to feel as though I'm there first row, center stage. That's one thing that drew me to the Klipsch they seem to really push out the sound.
  12. That's interesting. My livingroom is connected to a kitchen with a half high, half long wall. Another wall leads to the entry way, and a third a long hallway. Topped off with cathedral ceilings it becomes a pretty big (non acoustic friendly) space. Oh yeah the fourth wall is graced with a beautiful (BIG, SMOOTH, HARD) white marbel fireplace.
  13. Trust me I need the power, and I mentioned warm because they do seem a touch bright in the high freqs with certain equiptment. As mentioned the NAD T751 mated very well, warm but defined.
  14. Well I know the vintage stuff is supposed to be good, lord knows I have no experience there, but what about some of the new stuff out right now? Someone mention Arcam i've heard some good things about them, sounds expensive though. As important as quality or maybe more so is budget. To easy to get carried away.
  15. edit? Does that mean it is not for sale?
  16. Well I was just looking at a NAD C272 for $699 rated at 150 per 2 the other day. Despite there quality problems I think NAD has a nice sound. I used to have a T751 receiver.
  17. I am going to purchase an amp in the near future. Can anyone recommend a clean, warm, 150-200 watt two channel amp in the $600-$1000 range that will mate well with KLF 20's? It will be hooked up via an A/V receiver pre-outs.
  18. Does your sub have speaker level inputs and outputs on it?
  19. Paulparrot's post reminded me, if anyone's a Miles Davis fan Sony remastered Kind of Blue. It seems when it was recorded the music was taped on two different machines. At the first session, which produced the first three songs that appeared on side one of the LP, one of the three track machines was running slightly slow. Just so happens the master takes used on the LP were pulled from the reels recorded on that machine. So the first three cuts always appeared in sharp pitch until the gold Mastersound edition of this album. The reissue was remixed on an all-tube-three-track machine, an old Presto kind of like the orginal recordings. It also has an alternate version of Flamenco Sketches. Just a thought.
  20. Great stuff. I especially like the M&P's tip, I will own that soon enough, thanks Paul. Obviously with the Bob James and Vince Guaraldi I'm into the piano jams, plus I play. Any ideas there? I know of alot of good artists, but I'm looking for good recordings or remasters that also mate well with the KLF 20 s or klipsch technology (horns) in general.
  21. I listen to rock-Black Crowes, Blind Melon, Local H, Jim Croce, CCR Jazz-Bob James, Miles Davis, Kenny G, Vince Guaraldi, Folky type-James Taylor, Mamas and the Papas, Peter Paul and Mary. What are some CD s that would sound good with KLF 20 's?
