  1. I'm using a Parasound Halo A21 two channel amp and a A52 five channel amp to run a Reference 35 system, with an Anthem AVM20 as a pre-pro. Prior to that I was using a Denon 4802 and a pair of Anthem amps, the MCA 50 five channel and PVA2 two channel. I much prefer my current setup.

    Help!

Thanks to all for responding. I have searched for and found a list of ZIP codes and will use them to find some dealers in the Blaine and Bellingham areas of Washington State. I want to listen to speakers before I purchase them. I prefer bookshelves to towers so I want to audition the RB75 as well as the RF5/7 towers. My equipment list is in my system profile. Thanks.
  4. I am a resident of Canada, Vancouver Island, BC to be specfific. I currently own a pair of RF35's, RC35, and 2 pair of RB3's for sides/rears. I want to upgrade my fronts and center to a higher model reference speaker. I wont know which ones until I have a chance to listen to some. And there is the rub! No one in the entire province of BC stocks anything higher than the RF35 line of speakers. I have called all the dealers in my area, spoke with Klipsch directly in Hope, and spoke with the Klipsch rep for the province. Nada! As a consumer wanting to upgrade I'm being told that I must purchase via "special order", without even the oppurtunity to audition first. Sucks to be me I know. My only alternative is a costly trip to Washington State. Can someone please provide me a list of dealers there, or, alternatively, some ZIP codes I can enter into the dealer location on the Klipsh website? Many thanks in advance.
  5. Since one's taste in speakers is so personal it is hard to answer your question. What sounds like crap to me might sound great to you. Personally, I listened to both the RF-311 and RF-35 models and chose the RF-35, even though they cost several hundred dollars more. To me they sounded better. BTW, the RF-35's come wrapped in vinyl, not wood veneer. HTH's you make a choice.

  7. I too am very pleased with the sound of my RC-35, which is paired with RF-35 mains and RB-3 surrounds and rears. My center lives on top of a 57 " WS Toshiba, has two rubber pads on the front bottom edges and two sonically approved, Home Depot Boutique, brown, rubber door wedges at the rear corners tilting it down at the sweet spot. Crystal clear, dynamic, thunderous Klipsch sound roars outta that thing for movies only as I only listen to music in 2 channel stereo. My tone controls are always "off" also. Even my tin eared signifigant other was moved enough to remark on how much better that speaker sounds (RC-35) than all the other junk you have wasted OUR money on over the years. For me it's a keeper.

Well I jumped the gun by a couple of days and bought 2 pair of RB-3's for surround/rear duty. Timbre matching with the 35's L/R & center, while not perfect, is still very good. The RB-3's are a nice speaker with the real wood veneer (Maple) and it almost seems like they are wasted used in this way. So, after starting a complete system up grade last October I can now say I'm finished, and satisfied, for now. By the time I get it all paid for it will be time to start over. Once again many thanks for the helpful advice and suggestions.

Many thanks to the kind words of welcome. I plan on checking out a pair of RB-511's and RB-3's over the coming weekend as potential surrounds/rears. I hope they will be reasonably timbre matched to the 35's as they are a lot cheaper than RB-35's. I have a 5' wide opening to the dining room about 3/4 along the right wall where my right side surround should be placed and think I will be better off with a direct radiator firing over my head than one of the RS models. Thanks for the suggestions.
  10. Greetings..I've only owned my 35's for 10 days now so I'm hardly an expert, but I did audition all the models in the Reference series except the RF-7's and decided on the 35's over the rest. The best thing is to listen to as many models as possible and choose what pleases YOU most. Good luck and have fun.
  11. Hi all..been lurking here for several weeks gathering as much info about Klipsch as I could. After several months searching for new speakers to replace my Paradigm Monitor series I decided I really liked the Klipsch sound best. I now have RF-35 mains and a RC-35 center. I'm still undecided on what to do at the sides & rears, bookselves or floorstanders, but know they will be Klipsch Rreference. I listened to all of the Reference series except the RF-7's (special order only) and chose the 35's for my setup. After breaking them in for a week I remain very satisfied with them. Great forum BTW...Cheers.
