  1. Thanks everyone! Your right if it aint broke dont fix it, I orderd 4 spare tweeter and 4 spare mid diaphrams today and a new crossover for a bill of 360.84, had to buy ultra fast shipping, lesson learned, Will crank again..Rob
  2. Man, took off work today to modify my new chorus`, bought 12 ga old school monster cable, rope caulk and started at it. One question, what is the best wire to use for this?,I only wired and roped one speaker, and had to drill out crossovers, all went well with that until I thought I would eliminate cheap female connector, and decided to silver solder wire to horns, big mistake do not do, for now I have to find new tweeter and midrange diaphrams, the speaker will no longer speak, the soldering iron melted the tiny wires on the diaphram, so I am so discusted that I am prepared to start over. Any recomendations on wire will be appreciated, it seems that Klipsch used 18 ga. wire from factory, but is it a silver wire? better than monster 12ga? it is silver in color, but maybe aluminum. Also I roped my mid and tweet, liitle advise here, rope caulk tweeter with tweeter installed in speaker, because once you wrap it it is almost impossible to put in, I hope this all is worth it, I have only done one so I could compare.Does anyone have any k79k diaphrams? I am not looking foward to waiting on them through a dealer or Klipsch, alo I may as well bu a couple new mid diaphrams for peice of mind, as always, your advice and help is greatly appreciated. Also I do not know where to buy new diaphrams
  3. You did notice a difference with led shot risers on other speakers, can you try the risers with your chorus`?

  5. I have a Rotel 100x5 thx amp if your interested say 550$
  6. I have both Adcom pre amp 555-2 Adcom 565 mono blocks and rotel rsp 980 and rb985mark2 or 4amp ,havent ran over and looked, but I can tell you this, the Adcom stuff will not go into thermo protection when I drive my Paradigm studio 100s and the Rotel will, plus it sound a hole lot better definetly look at the Adcom... unless your interested in my Rotel stuff???
  7. I own some Rotel equipment, its all seperates, amp,pre,digatal,decode... and I am not really happy with it at all, I also have some Adcom, Sunfire and acoustat, I would definetly look closer at the rotel stuff, as it has a very cheap feel, look, and sound, when you compare it to the other equpment ie. amps and pre amps for the same money. Adcom will smoke that rotel stuff hands down.
  8. I found a cabinet guy today that is going to order a peice of oak mdf and build me some new bases for my chorus2`s witch I just received from california and were damaged in shipping. I wrote to forum and took advice from kind subscribers to have new built. I was looking in the mod section and read that some people claim they have had success wit building new hersey bases and filling them with sand, does any one know if I should do this mod to my chorus2s? please advise me, as I do not want to do anything that might hurt rather than help. THanks again.. Boy imagine that, I have a life now...Klipsch
  9. Back in 99 I had a set of k horns with2 adcom 555-2 bridged for 600 watts a peice, it is quit the experience letting them rip to the point of "jist a little flicker" of the amp lights with some Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon gold disc, I guess you have to like power, I am the guy in the pits of a NHRA fuel meet standing in the pits next to a 8000 horse funny car long after all of the crowd has ran for their lives! CRANK IT UP AND GRAB YOUR NADS SCALA BOY>>>

  19. I have been a long time klipsch lover, in the past, I have owned a set of chorus2s and 2 diferent sets of k-horns. Since that time I have moved to florida got a divorce, and finaly setteld down. Long story short I missed Klipsch for years,so I got the bug, searched and searched for a pair of chorus2s {living room won`t hold horns] and finally found some in new condition out of california, ,Paid$1026 to have them deliverd to my door. I staid home from work today so excited to finally get my klipsch,to my most dissapointment Fed Ex treated them like potatoes, and destroyed the bases,so can someone please help me to find at least one oak oil base prefferably 2. Also I am ready for mods! What can I do to increase performance? Im sporting sunfire tube pre with 600 two signature amp, thanks for any help....radiob
