  1. They are beautiful indeed, Rich, but I'm still waiting patiently for you to offer those Fortes ! Bob
  2. MCP Rich is correct. I have a pair of WO Quartets in excellent condition. I really am trying to find a pair of fortes though. Shoot me an e-mail. Maybe we can work something out. berthypo@hotmail.com Thanks , Bob
  3. Congrats Rich ! Now that you have the Khorns , I guess you won't be needing those Fortes any more ! I could find a home for them. Bob
  4. Rich I'm not sure now if you even received my PM - but I have speakers that may interest you. My e-mail is berthypo@hotmail. com Thanks - Bob

My Immaculate RF7s for Khorns any model or finish as long as the are in working order. If the Khorns are scratched and beat up that is OK. ---------------- What finish are the RF 7's ? If you still have them , I may be interested in buying. email - berthypo@hotmail.com Bob
  6. I have a pair of KG4's that I alternate with 3 vintage receivers - H/K 430 , Pioneer SX-1010, and a Marantz 2250. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the above. A different sound with each one but they are all sweet. I think the KG4's are a great speaker. I also have a pair of Quartets and there are many times when I prefer the KG4's - depending on my mood and the type of music. Bob

You will notice a significant improvement. ---------------- I am in the same position. I am running my HT setup from a Marantz SR 6300 and my 2 channel Forte with an H/K 430. Are you saying I could hook up the HK to the Marantz somehow and drive only the Fortes with the HK and the remainder of the gear with the Marantz ? How would I do that? Thanks for any help. Bob
  8. Thanks for the replies. I think you are right. The sound when standing sounded almost like an echo or an effect created by a surround receiver. Anyway, it sounded nice at first but not really a true sound, so I will try experimenting with placement. Currently the speakers are about 2 feet from back wall and 8 feet apart with a huge wall unit entertainment center in between so there is not a lot of horizontal options but I can try to put them on risers and see what happens. I know when I tried that before with the Marantz it seemed as if I lost too much on the low end but I will give it a shot. Thanks.
  9. Well, I finally got my hands on an H/K 430 thru e-pay. Not the prettiest cosmetically but fully functional. So I got hooked up to my KG4's, put on a CD and sat down in "the chair " for some initial critical listening. What a shock !!! After using a Marantz 2250 for the last 2 months (very smooth)- I could not believe the improvement in the low end and the overall soundstage. Listened to a couple tunes and then stood up to put on another CD and WOW ! As good as the H/K sounded from my seat, it was absolutely amazing when I stood up and listened. Now how do I get that sound when I am sitting ? I tried moving the speakers closer to the wall, toeing them in, leaning them front and back but could never get that ultimate sound until I stood up. Any suggestions ? Other than standing or sitting in a high chair ? Overall just an awesome little receiver. You guys were right AGAIN !
  10. I just got the itch for some new speakers. I got my hands on a H/K 430 and I'd like to hear what all the fuss is about. I am looking to buy a pair of Fortes in the PA/NJ/DEL area. I can pick them up.Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. I found some Fortes within driving distance. I am picking them up this weekend. Now which amp to use ? With my KG4's , I am very happy with the sound of a Pioneer sx-1010 and Marantz 2250. I guess the concensus here is to go with the HK430 - I don't have my hands on one of those yet. Any other SS suggestions ?
  12. Now that I have decided to stick with the Heritage line - I'm looking for a pair of Fortes or Cornwalls anywhere within 3 -4 hours of Reading Pa. E-pay just doesn't seem to cut it IMHO. Any help would be appreciated .
  13. Thanks for all the input. Let me clarify by saying that I love my KG4's and have no intention of parting with them. I guess I am just wondering how much of an improvement I could expect with the move to Forte or Cornwall. As I said before I preferred the KG4's to the B&W DM604s3($1500)so maybe I should just stay with these. I think the Cornwalls may be a space and WAF issue but the Fortes certainly do intrigue me. Is there a marked difference between the I and II ? Thanks again for any help.
  14. I presently own a pair of KG4's that I have been pairing with a number of vintage receivers - Pioneer sx-1250 and sx-1010 as well as a Marantz 2250 and a Yamaha rx-v870. I would like to upgrade to another speaker in the Heritage line but am not sure what to go with ( Heresy , Forte or Cornwall ) and what I should be paying for these. BTW I have A/B'd the KG4's with a $1500 B&W and was still happier with my Klipsch. I have settled on the Pioneer sx-1010 as my receiver of choice (for now!) Any suggestions would be appreciated. My room size is 13x25 if that is important. Thanks
