  1. edwinr: Thanks for the complement .
  2. ERIK: Happy New Year !!!! I pray this years is just as good as 2004 was for me ! ...I forgot about your audio-room being upstairs in your house, when it came to moving the LaScala up there. ~ How did you get that La Scala upstairs ??? I know Marie (your beautiful wife) is still recovering from her operation. How did you do it ? ....don't say, by yourself .
  3. jdm56: Thank You for the kind words. The system has exceeded all my expectations...on a daily basis. Every day that magical moment shows up and I just grin and smile knowing that I got to this sonic euphoria, with just a few adjustments w/ timbre matching. An other Klipsch forum member, marksdad helped me identify what needed attention in my "rig". I used to have a RC-7 Reference series center-channel and never understood what timbe matching would do to my system. After I sold my RC-7 and replaced it with this LaScala, the system came to life ! So,...the obvious thing to do was redesigned the whole look of my equipment setup and focus everything around the La Scala. Obviously having the T.V. above the LaScala was a task. ...which leads me to comment and thank edwinr... edwinr: Yes, my new entertainment center is "rock-solid". The T.V. must weigh at least 85 pounds. This is a 36" tube and it is bulky. I instantly loved this Salamander entertainment center design that HAUCK constructed, ...for the reason that a DLP or LCD would fit on the top shelf in the future, ....that is, as soon as the LCD and DLP retail prices start dropping. Once I elevated the T.V. to this 44" height, the T.V. picture seemed so much larger. I am incredibly satisfied w/ this set-up ! ~ I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year wish ...and may all your New Years resolutions come true ! ~
  4. Daddy Dee: Yes, that was the Baldwin amp Erik Madaville heard when he came to my house a few weeks ago. If anyone is interested in reading what ERIK said about my "rig"...here is the thread. http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=58071 Thank You again ERIK, for all the kind words and assistance.
  5. J.4knee : see if this link works better for ya ! http://www.buildsalamander.com/archetype/arc_gallery.jsp
  6. ERIK, my main-man : I know that HAUCK paid $800 for his shelving ..since he had a professional woodworker do the template, drilling and staining. The Salamander parts cost him $250....so that places it well-over a $1000.oo. ($1050 to be exact) Mine only cost me about $335.oo total, since me and my better-half (thank you Marjan) did the template for the holes, the drilling and the staining work ourselves. ....now when are you and your better-half comin' over for dinner ??????????????
  7. Q-Man: Thanx for the complement, ....I actually wanted to get a Belle but couldn't find a Black Belle to match my '95 K-Horns. So the obvious answer was to get a La Scala , which I got from a Houstonian for $425. It actually belonged to Erik Mandaville years ago, so I know it was well cared for. Erik actually got me in touch w/ the person selling the single LaScala and Erik also helped and hand delivered it to my house . Again, Thanx ERIK. You are Da'man ! 3dzapper: Thank you for the complement. When I saw HAUCK's set-up, I knew I had to use that design. So he actually came up w/ the two shelve connecting on top, ...w/ one shelve used for the tv ! Analog: Trust me..the tube was moved immediately to the top shelve ! You are right...it was a scorcher sitting under that top shelve. It has found its new place on top. Thanx for noticing. (you aught to go get a job w/ fire prevention,...LOL) IndyKlipschFan: The DBX 2231's...you noticed. I know this is against all PURIST vision, but you have got to hear this system w/ these bad boys. I am a professional musician, and have always used these w/ my studio and road gear. It made perfect sense to smooth out the rough edges of this tiled room w/ these expensive E.Q.'s. (actually the room isn't that bad with all the leather couches and rugs I have added.) The DBX E.Q.'s add actually no audio noise to this "whisper-clean" system, what-so-ever...so for that reason, and that reason mainly, I placed them in series with my K-Horns and surround-sound Heresy II's...which are not in the pictures above. ~ Thanx guys for all the complements !!!! ~
  8. And one last pic of my 3-way system....have ya noticed the Baldwin tube amp. Just incredible ! Again, ...I would like to graciously thank HAUCK . ...for his assistance and direction in the design of this " work of art " !!! Thanx a million HAUCK. ~ Craig R. LeMay ~ B O R N 2 R O C K U
  9. Parts are from the Salamander Designs company. http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/archetype/index.htm
  10. The following frames are pictures of my x-mas present, with my "rig" ! I would like to graciously thank one of our Klipsch forum member, HAUCK . ...for his assistance and direction in the design of this " work of art " !!! Thanx a million HAUCK. ~ Craig R. LeMay ~ B O R N 2 R O C K U
  11. .....would look at getting some filtering, I like it for some of the equipment. DO NOT RUN THE POWER AMP ON A FILTERED OUTLET (they say you can, but it REALLY cramps the dynamics!); however digital and pre-amps are good to filter the AC on, IMO. Damn, I have had my Baldwin tube amp on the Analog filter plug of my Monster 3600. I am going to run home from work and see if the dynamics are even better then what they already are . Can it get any better ???????????
  12. Does my 1999 Heresy II's have the E-TYPE BALANCING NETWORK ? If not, what crossover does it have and does it have the T2A on the crossover that is inatalled w/ this model year ?
  13. ERIK : I can't wait to hear your new amp. What a great way to end then year !!!! ....but, it is so sad that you had to let the Lexicon go home.... ***** Once I heard 3-channel , I never went back to 2-channel. *****
  14. " Yes, I'm terrified of anything that challenges my thinking and views." MY favorite French quote from Neil Peart...Rush's drummer. "Plus ca change Plus c'est la meme chose" defined: "The more things change,...then more they stay the same !"
  15. " His setup sounded phenomenal to me, despite the fact that it has been completely destroyed by pairing up SS sources with a vintage tube amp." ERIK, I love good humor. Happy Holidays to everyone !
  16. I am infactuated w/ my B+K Reference 50 Pre-amp / Processor !!!! http://www.bkcomp.com/lifestyle_hometheater_S2.asp I hail one vote for my SS pre/pro... ...anyone else using any B+K ?
  17. ERIK: I just got a Harmon Kardon Amp off EBay for $53 shipped, if ya need to borrow anything !
  18. ERIK: ...sure, I'd love to hear the new network w/ my LaScala center channel. {Would your new crossovers be a step up from the one you designed and installed here LAST weekend ? } BUT, first I feel we need to load up my RSW-15 SUB-Woofer and treat you to some true sub-sonic foundation , w/ your new set-up. {I can't wait to hear what DEAN has to say about this }
  19. I tried the Bi-Amping of my K-Horns and I felt NO improvement. I instantly went back to my single Baldwin tube amp set-up. That Baldwin amp is just incredidble ! Nothing could be done to improve the K-Horns thru Bi-Amping, .....in MY situation. Happy Holidays !
  20. ERIK: You got those "Big-***" trucker knobs for the L-Pads, to match mine...didn't ya ????
  21. DEAN : Please make an effort to stop by, if you come to Houston. You and I are the same age ! Happy Holiday's
