  1. I got an RX-V1500 (7 Channels) but I only have 5.1 speakers. For the surrounds, do I connect them to the SURROUND SPEAKER or the SURROUND BACK SPEAKER outputs? TIA

Kind of like Bumpons, but rough plastic bumps, wouldn't hurt furniture. Says on package 'for VCR's', I take it when lesser HT's have plastic VCR perched precariously (say three times fast) on plastic TV, these keep it from sliding into never-never land. Put four on base of BS speaker, would probably be better than velcro. Michael ---------------- Michael: Thanks - do you have the BRAND?
  3. Thanks. I will look in to it. I was afraid that placing a VELCRO on the bookshelve will have some impact on the speaker sound for whatever reason.
  4. Is it OK to place VELCRO under a bookshelf so that it will not fall off the speaker stand? I have 2 kids that run around the house so I'm afraid they might accidentally hit one of them. Any other options? TIA

Because, like you said, you may (and will) upgrade eventually, and it's better to have an outstanding h-fi setup later than it is to have a mid-fi setup now. Patience is a virtue. All good things come to those who wait. Haste makes waste. ---------------- I think I would be able to add a pair of RB25 as surrounds to my option#2. Would that be a good match? Thanks
  6. A 6AVE (NJ) flier shows that they will have a 20% discount on all speakers (except Paradigm and Bose) they carry starting tomorrow from 7:00 AM. That would make the RC7 $599 before taxes.
  7. I saw them this morning at COSTCO. They were selling it for $15.99.
  8. It has been 2 over two months now since I joined the forum. Read and learned about the Klipsh models. Has changed my mind several times on what I would get but Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it's now almost time to get the "good" stuff. Now, I have two "final" option for my purchase. Both are almost at par with cost so I just want to get any opinion on both. #1 1-RC35, 2-RF35, 2-RB35 #2 1-RC7, 2-RB75 Honestly, I'm leaning on option #2 so I can upgrade in the future but I just don't know when I would be able to get "floorstanders" or I might even use n RB-25 as rear surround coz it's cheaper. Needless to say, I will be stuck with 3.1 setup (using PB12-ISD) for maybe a loooonng while. BTW, 6ave has the Yamaha RX-V2400 on sale for less than $600. I'm also leaning on that but I would really like to get the RX-V1500. The system will be used mainly for HT. Any thought? Thanks

  10. I had a "NEW" sony universal remote that went bonkers all of a sudden. I called sony and they told me to ship it to them for repairs which I did. Came back a refurbished unit that was not working. Had to send it back again for replacement. The other replacement was still a refurbished unit and the #1 key was not working. My wife said to send it back but I decided to live with it (I got the remote as a FREEBIE on my credit card reward) instead of wasting my time and waiting for a long time. Lucky me!
  11. True but it really wouldn't look right, you know what I mean. I'm getting the HL-P5085W model at around $3200-3500. Prices have been dropping steadily since it came out (from $4200) so I'm looking for the week of thanksgiving to get one. Some say buy a day after thanksgiving because I might get a better bargain - how true?
  12. I don't where we are disagreeing here but the thread of the post do point out to the fact that you don't need the wires to be of the same length.
  13. Check this thread.... http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=55511

Just curious on how this thing really works.. http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/heat_cold_soldering_set.html ---------------- I'm leaning on getting this one too. Here's a review at MSNBC and a more detailed one at another site. Looks like it's the real deal. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6151688/ http://www.moddershq.net/reviews.asp?reviewid=32
  15. Bello's designs are really stylish and nice but also falls on the expesinsive side. If I had the $$$$ I wouldn't hesitate getting their products. My problem is that this type of stands would not work for the Samsung DLP model I'm purchasing because it has a PEDESTAL STAND built-in. So right now, I'm leaning more on a center stand.

It sounds like you're looking at the 63W line. I was originally looking one of those. Unfortunately, I don't think any of the stands will hold the RC-7, at least not any that I found. Doesn't seem that the manufacturer's are expecting anything that big. Unfortunately, building it into the wall isn't a possibility as I'm currently living in an apartment. Seems like either the stand Kenstr gave a link to or the tv/vcr mount above the tv might be the best option. ---------------- I'm getting the P5068W and would like to know how you handled the RC7 mounting. I saw this one http://www.btech-usa.com/bt14.html but it can only handle up to 20 lbs. Thanks
  17. I finally had a chance to audition the new synergy series. The F2 was great but the bass seamed lacking and so as the F1. The F3 was particularly outstanding!!! The Klispch listening area was not properly arranged. Some of the speakers were not even connected (i.e. the surrounds and one of the book shelves, hires hanging out). The subs were kindda garbled when I tested it too. If I was a potential customer and would try listening to the speakers who are not properly arranged or connected, I would just leave that area and would have a negative impression on them. Klipsch should hire something like a "merchandising" company to assess their displays even on a monthly basis. I don't know if BB does it for them but from where I checked it (Secaucus NJ), the display was a little "crappy" IMHO. Anyway, I also listened to the JBL Northridge E80 and honestly, it was not even on the same level to the F1. All I hear was a hiss and no bass output whatsoever.
  18. Any feedback on the HTR-5790 (if you did purchase it)? THanks
  19. Yup - Samsung's DLPs are pretty amazin' especially the new pedestal type. Can't wait 4 thanksgiving!!!! http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/nabc/product/b2c_product_detail.jsp?eUser=&prod_id=HLP4674WX%2fXAA
  20. Any feedback on them? I went to a BestBuy near my place but didn't see them. Klipsh website says they launced it last month.
  21. You got to check this article out. Nice info on speaker cables plus something about the HOMEDEPOT wire cables too. http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm
  22. Try the "Blue Jeans Cable" website, they use BELDEN 12-AWG cables or you can buy them direct (which I am planning to). However, the cables are not really pleasing to the eyes unlike those see-thru ones but it's a lot cheaper. http://www.newark.com/NewarkWebCommerce/newark/en_US/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=19C3550&N=0
  23. I called KLIPSCH and they told me that they are not an authorized dealer of their products. Nice prices though.
  24. The curse lives on!!!! I'm still "cursing" until now because the Yankees lost - $#&@*%*&!!!!!! boohoo
