  2. I an aquiring a pair of CF-2's at the end of the month, I have recapped my Fortes and CF-4's so i am familiar with the process now, just wanted to purchase the caps and resistors before i get ghe CF-2's
  3. Searched the crossover thread already and nothing :/..... Rhe second link is a passive crossover, bot the correct one im looking for, but thank you for your responses!
  4. It all starts with the source and amplification. The Epics are very source sensitive.. A recap might not be a bad road to go also. I am betting the electrolytics are bad in the xovers... The CF-2's were the first Klipsch experience i had and i was blown away, i now have the 1st version CF-4's and will be aquiring a pair of the CF-2's at the end of this month, i am planning on recapping right away.
  5. Hello does anyone have a CF-2 crossover schematic??
  6. Thanks everyone! I find Mac and Klipsch match very very well. And I do recommend the horn upgrade. I do wish Klipsch offered a 2" titanium replacement, or something that would work. I've read here on the forums that those EV drivers make a fantastic upgrade, what are they made of?
  7. Here's one of the completed recapped xover.
  8. The CF-2's were the first Klipsch speakers I heard and I was blown away! My quest began! I started with RF-3's, then went to the KLF-30's and 20's. I never was really satisfied with those speakers, great rock speakers but they were too bass shy. I eventually found some CF-4's in the local paper for sale, and I was anxious to see what version they were. I called the owner and asked him what length the ports were, and he told me 5", and I was immediately excited to get over and audition them!!! I was blown away when I auditioned them. I purchased the pair that day. I spoke with Roy about the history of the epics and about some mods I was thinking of doing to the horns with dampening. He suggested that I look into getting the newer version horns that have glass in the material make up vs the all plastic material used in the 1st versions. So I did and I applied acoustic dampening spray that I purchased from parts express followed by applying lots of rope caulk to the complete outer area of the horns. Those mods removed a lot of the "hollow tap" sound. That was back in 2005 and I have been happy them ever since. Last winter I decided to upgrade the crossover caps and resistors. That mod was probably the best mod I had ever done to the speakers. I have them paired with a McIntosh MC352 and find them extremely smooth and transparent sounding, with plenty of bass that is not over emphasized. It's really good to see a thread for the epic speakers because they truly are Epic!!!
  9. Also the k-53 ti is a 1.75" diaphragm, and the k-52/52 ti diaphragms are 1.5". So in my opinion the 53 ti driver is superior to both k-52 diaphragms. Yes! It becomes very fun when you start upgrading the drivers!
  10. The k-53ti will work as a replacement diaphragm. But you would want to replace both since they are different material than the stock drivers. I replaced my 30's with the k-52 ti's bout 10 years ago, those were the ki-362 mid drivers, which speakers inspired me to try the titanium diaphragms. And klipsch stocks the 53's
  11. I'm going to be Looking to purchase an MA6200 with in the next few weeks, i have seen them on and off of eBay, but you don't always know what your going to get off there especially with an intergrated 20+ years old. If anyone has one that they are thinking of selling or knows of anyone selling please contact me, it will be greatly appreciated!
  12. Agreed, they are a fantastic speaker! I'm going to upgrade the caps and resistors to really make them shine.
  13. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has the Xover schematic for the F2?? I'm going to upgrade the caps and resistors.
  14. Ikr! My son loves playing video games on that system, klf-30's fronts, c7 center and klf-20's rears
  15. Some pics of them next to the klf-30's
  16. Greetings all! Yesterday I picked up a pair of synergy F-2's for $55! The cabinets are a little rough, but some lemon oil helped the finish. I'm very pleased with the way they sound. Those little 6.5" woffers can kick out some sound!
  17. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! The orbit looks interesting, and the carbon looks the best so far.
  18. Anyone have experience with the pro-ject carbon table??
  19. Looking to purchase a turntable in the $200-$400 range. What are some brands to look into?
  20. The Mac is at the dealer now to have diagnosed. They gave me an argon 8008 amp for a loaner till the Mac is repaired. Here's part of the service manual that shows the power input schematic, anyone know if the ground floats or not??
  21. Preston Tom, it was a snug fit when I carefully pluged it in to the back of the amp.
