  6. Thanks Guy, I'll look for a Mullard long plate D getter, the Mullard 10M is very pricey! Cheers, Robert
  7. Anybody have a Mullard 10M 12AX7 to sell? I would like to try one in my Blueberry. Cheers, Robert
  8. I sure do LOVE!! my VRD's,for the past four days,I've been using EH KT-88's that I bought from www.dougstubes.com for $100 a quad shipped. So far the EH's are a tad sweeter in the mids and cleaner in the high's than the Valve Art's,but the Valve Arts are nice. Brent Jesse of Brent Jesse Audio says he can get a quad of Ei Kt90's series II,I think?,for $272,but I could not afford that. Also as per Mark's very helpful info,I'm using 12AX7 Bugle Boys. Enjoy the VRD's!! Cheers, Robert
  9. Be careful! 99.9 % of all household deaths happen at home!
  10. Sorry if my lame post was confusing,I really never recovered from my past ground loop hum with the Cayin amp and TAD preamp. Basically the Klipsch tech was a great help for me. I was told to use a cheater plug on the preamp and 2-baluns connected back to back between the tv and TV coax. At that the time magic boxes were still on back order and the 2-baluns did the same as the magic box. Cheers, Robert
  11. Tech folks at Klipsch were extremely helpful !!!!!to me when I had ground loop problems from HE_L when I was using a Cayin TA-30 and TAD 150 preamp together with TV/DVD. I definitely was getting ground loop hum from the Time Warner TV cable which is also our Road Runner computer cable. I almost bought a magic box from Klipsch, but those were on backorder for EVER! So I used 2-channel master antenna baluns connected back to back connected to the TV cable and one cheater plug on the preamp only, the amp I didn't use a cheater plug so the amp and preamp shared ground through the IC's . I still had a very slight ground loop hum. IT DROVE ME CRAZY<I read every ground loop hum post on Audio Asylum,AudioKaharma and the KLipsch forum, when I called the KLipsch tech's it could have saved me hours of reading. I still haven't fully recovered from the nightmares of ground loop hum. Just my 2-cents.
  12. The Panamax 5100 line conditioner, reduced my ground loop hum to almost zero.A used on on A-Gon for $175 seller said he would take $150. wwww.2baudio.com has them for $230. I have to stick my fat shubee head into the speaker to even hear it now. The cheater plugs helped before I got the Panamax, also for me plugging my preamp into a different power strip than the amps helped. When I had my second system in the den with TV/dvd etc. The TV cable gave me a gawd awful ground loop problem! when I had a amp/preamp combo I sold it and now I just have one main system. So some TV cables can be real bad for ground loop problems,my Time Warner TV cable shares the same ground at the house meter. Tech folks at Klipsch can give you great easy to understand info about ground loop hum and ways to fix it. When I used cheater plugs I was getting a louder slight pop in my speakers when I power up than when I wasn't using cheater plugs, which kind of scared me. Right now my rooftop antenna ground is fighting with my TV coax ground and that is probably where I ground loop hum is from. Cheers, Robert
  13. Was that collection located in Charlotte,North Carolina? I'm in Gastonia,NC 18 miles south. I sure would like to buy that Scott 4310 tuner! Man O'Man transporting all that gear is going to be fun! Cheers, Robert
  14. Ditto on the Onzow zero dust blob, made in Japan,I bought mine off Audiogon for $30 something, and the www.neauanceaudio.com for under my turntable was a big sonic improvement,$220 something, also one used on Audiogon now. It took several months to get my Neuance,Ken Lyon makes them to order. I too have "The Heavyweight on my Rega 300 arm. Cheers, Robert
  15. Check out the Forte's on EBAY item # 5810053911 I don't want to say anything funny and make an arse out of myself! Here's my new avatar, for awhile ) not my dog, another 1950's postcard. Cheers, Robert
  16. I just got my Neuance shelf today from www.neuanceaudio.com Ken Lyon who makes them,by the way he's an EXTREMELY fascinating fellow. He knows his stuff! and is very pasionate about his product, It goes under my VPI turntable to replace the crappy plywood board that came with my target wall mount tt shelf. So far my turntable sounds much better, more focused for lack of better words, more detail. If you speak with Ken be careful not to talk about the Gingko,or you will get tons of info on how the Neuance is very different from the Gingko, more info than my pea sized brain could handle. Cheers, Robert
  17. Great, another product that has planned obsolescence! Good thing I still have my $40 Belkin power strip! Cheers, Robert
  18. I just hooked up my Panamax 5100 line conditioner $230 shipped from www.2baudio.com it really does all that is advertised. There is a used 5100 on Audiogon seller says he'll take $150 plus shipping, but he was away on vacation last week,he just emailed me and I couldn't wait so I bought one from TAD. Cheers, Robert
  19. ALSO A BIC BEAM BOX ON AUDIOGON NOW,not affialated with the seller. But Godar is very good!
  20. I had a Godar indoor antenna mounted in the attic,it did very well and was easy to psotion or aim at my favorite radio stations. But now I have a roofmounted APS 9B antenna with channel master rotator which works the very best!! Before the Godar I had a Rat Shack Yagi antenna in the attic,it did as well as the godar but it was a absolute nightmare beyoond belief and a freakin pain to position and aim at my favorite stations. So the Godar for indoor in the attic worked best. I think there is a used Godar on Audiogon. Also www.antennaperformance.com ,makes an indoor antenna,I have no idea if it works well and the price is high. I did like the Godar, customer service with Godar is fantastic. But roofmount is the way to go! Good Luck, Robert
