  1. porter paint is an awsome product top of the line if you can find it i used to live in ky and that was all i would use bet they arent out here in maryland. Joe
  2. the epoxy finishes will dry much faster than the oil base also, and be aware that oil base paints are pretty picky with regards to humidity, they can take days to dry to the touch if used in high humidity, (michael did you ever come across this problem) i had a friend just last year insist on using oil based paint on an exterior door and the thing was still wet to the touch after a week, anyone selling oil based paint should be able to give you the manufacturer specks in regards to temp and humidity while using the paints
  3. spaaz i just sent you an email Joe

JOE
  7. hello thebes i was out of town last week with no access to post, but im back pick this week is shine down, song is a remake of a skynard song simple man, i usually hate remakes as most sound just like what they are a remake of a classic because the artist in question didnt have the talent to make there oun music however the group shine down does a awsome job with the remake of simple man it is actually an alternative rock group. and on cd, the lead singer of the group has an awsome voice and is one of the best new artists to come along in quite awhile IMO Joe
  8. laugh if you will michael but i would make that drive for that trade, although i would have to trade my oak black laquer 1977 set for them as i just sold the blonde set, to a local fellow forum member. so what do you say want a set of oak black laquer 1977 all original corns in very good shape. wish you would have posted this last monday i was just out to kansas city and could have easily made the deal HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO FOR A PAIR OF HERITAGE? with me the limits have yet to be met. although i havent cought up with michael yet. so you know i am serious i would make the trip for the deal and may even throw in a little cash to you Joe

Joe
  10. thanks gary, i have the amps this sale will pay to have craig work his magic on them and put new tubes in them also, next step will be to sell off the rest of excess gear to try to finance a nice blueberry. hope this all works out ok will update as things progress Joe
  11. hello im about 50 miles south of dc, about 3.5 hours from philly, if you wanted to audition them i can work that out also, or could meet up with the monsters Joe P.S. these will blow those heresys away, but i found that when i set a pair of heresys atop corns the sound is flat out amazing!!!!

  13. i need to sell 1 pair of my cornwalls to help finance my tubes, i bought these about 4 to 6 months ago aff ebay and have used them ever since without any problems, i took the backs off to verify the drivers were all klipschand they are the serial# are 25U532, and 533 consecutive #'s the cabinets are in really nice shape but not perfect or mint, they are very presentable, the risers have a couple places where the veneer was chipped off i guess from dragging them across the floors etc... before i bought them, i will let them go to any forum member for what i paid for them i will ship these at buyers expense, or may help out with delivery and may even meet up with buyer, i can hold them for a while if buyer needs that. i have 700.00 in them and will let them go for 700.00 to a forum member they are the cbr type with a honey pine type stain and a light coat of varnish overall appearance would be an 8 or 8.5 out of 10, and performance is of course a 10 out of 10, i can accept all forms of payment thru pay-pal Joe

I've always enjoyed using EQ's on my less expensive systems I had as a teenager, like a 1981, 45 watt Pioneer reciever and a 5 band cheap EQ, with cheap Cerwin Vega speakers. Most people don't run EQ's from the profile's I've seen. Thanks. ---------------- the eq works fine but it does put some noise in the line, i will probably sell it after i get my dynaco mark 3 mono amps back from craig, it serves a purpose, but i am far from an expert, this is one of the better eq that are available for around 100 used and if you can find one with the manual and mic it aids with setting up the room via pink noise, Joe

Audio Clinic - (301) 587-0070 Make sure you let them know I sent you. I know Terry's the best man for the job but it sounds like it just needs a good cleaning. I try to avoid shipping whenever I can. ---------------- thanks gary, i think i will get this fixed before i decide to sell, after i get the dynaco's i appreciate all the help and referances guys Joe
  16. well lets see she actually is very supporative of this hobby i think she likes it more than motorcycles she thinks its safer (cant understand why!!!!!!) she is even more shy than i am after hearing your gear she actually is up for the idea of buying the tubes, and beleive it or not there is a set im watching now, i have also emailed craig and got his opinion on them and an idea of refurbishing and modding them, hate to be a coppy cat but when something works stick with it. i will let you know when or if i get them, i haavent talked to her about kornerhorns yet but the la scalas will do for a while thanks again Joe
  17. well i have just returned from garys house and first i would like to say where else could one find a person that would invite a total stranger into there home and welcome them whole heartedly, this forum is an annomily in todays world the people on this forum are nothing short of great, gary thank you and you wife so much for inviteing me and my fiancee to your wonderful home, you and your wife are 2 of the finest people it has been my pleasure to meet, as you may have guessed i am not a very sociable person i dont go to places i dont know and certainly dont talk with strangers, but you and your wife made us feel welcome and i want to say thank you again. now for the tubes, gary has an awsome set up the twin dynaco's and the blueberry are an great combo and mated to the khorns well there are no words, just amazeing, the basis TT was nothing to sneeze at either. (very nice indeed) we listened to both garys systems the second one being a scott 299B attached to his ht but we only listened to the cornwalls and sub (on some tunes) i was simply astounded at how cornwalls could sound with 17 watts, i was kind of from the school the more watts the better (those days are gone forever) his 17 watts kicked the hell out of my 200 wpc. and the sound was better to boot, theres no argument that could justify not using tubes any longer. gary you have converted me of that there is no doubt, only problem now is i have to figure out how to pay for all the new gear i want. again gary thank you so much for the invite, it was an eye opening experience Joe

He's just joined this forum and seems to know a lot about McIntosh stuff. Hell, he's been working on audio gear since 1962.....that's when I was born!! Here's a link to his website: Amp Repair ---------------- thats wild i just found his site on the web, looks like a reputable guy, and offers a warranty on his work. i like that and knoxville isnt that far away i was going to call him monday and try to get a estimate on turnaround and a ballpark on his thoughts for a repair based on my explination of the problem. thanks for the help Joe
  19. i watch alot of sales on amps, and speakers, in particular the what i call the middle hi fi names, mcintosh, klipsch, audio research, classe, etc... and the price seems decent by prior sales of audio research gear however not that particular amp, (i havent seen it up for sale before)that could mean good, as in its such a good amp no one wants to part with it, or bad nobody wants them, i would tend to lean twords good though simply by reputation of the company Joe
