  1. Yeah im going to leave the garage door where it is but im going to build a wall infront of it! The garage is 18' but by the time i cut the track and build a wall i figure that will take up a foot? Im just going to seal off the garage door, cut off the track that it rides on and build a wall. Im going to use 1x2's on the wall's to attach my drywall to. Carpet the floor and see where it goes from there. But i will be taking lots of pics
  2. I have a APC surge/battery back up on my HT and seems to work great! I like the battery backup cuz the house current goes thru the battery before it gets to my stuff! Plus if you have stuff that is sensitive to on/off like a projector the battery will last for a while till you can shut it all down! Or finish your movie I got a top of the line one for 125$ so...
  3. Im wondering if my 1 car garage will make a good theater? It's finished room size will be 17'x11'with 9' foot cielings! I want a projector in there. Will it work?
  4. You should have looked on the back for a lilttle tag. It would give the model number. I personaly have never heard a pair of real old klipsch but out of all the ones i have heard i have never heard any that sounded bad! Now the really new Synergy series look and feel a lilttle cheezy but they sound good too so...
  5. Yeah i may try something like that? Im going to try a couple things and see what works better. I have a air brad nailer, i may use biscuits and glue and brad's? I dont think brads would show up under blach ash stain. Thanks for all the help im really going to need it Thanks again!!! If i can figure out how to post pics i will post some before and afters of the boxes!
  6. You guys im sure build more boxes than me so if you think biscuits will work with good glue then i will go that route. I just dont want to blow the box apart. I tend to be heavy on the volume.
  7. Im not real sure how to post pics on here? But they are pretty straight forward design. They are 38" tall 10.25" wide and 12.75" deep and they are black ash. They have two 8" woofers and a horn. I dont really want to use MDF just cuz it dont hold up,and if im going to spend the money to build them out of birch,i dont want to have to cover them with veneer. Im wondering how a biscuit and glue would hold?
  8. Yeah i have all the tools i need. I just dont think i can make them look like factory boxes
  9. I wanted to build new boxes out of like birch or oak plywood and then stain them with the black ash? But im not sure how to build them with out showing screw holes? I have built lots of speaker boxes before but i allways use MDF and laminate! And we now no MDF dont hold up.
  10. Yeah i did some looking and SF-2's are synergy also. But i found a beat up pair of KSF-10.5's for 450$ and a mint pair for 600$ so im thinking 275$ for mine? Also i will sell my center is some wants it!
  11. Im not sure evn what there going for used cuz i cant find anyone selling that model (KSF-10.5) I do know new they were 850$ for the pair from SoundAdvice. Any way there for sale if anyone wants to shoot me a offer!
  12. How much would the components out of them be worth?
  13. Yeah i was thinking birch plywood or oak but im not real sure how to go about building them with out showing screw holes? I have built lots of speaker boxes but i allways covered them with laminate. How do they go about building with no screw holes? As for the **** eater he now has a nice lil' crate to sleep in during the day He is not real happy about it but im not happy so why should he be? Me and the wife had a long (heated) discussion about this dog! Not that my speakers are that exspensive or the top of line but it is pretty nasty to have your dog just going where ever. We really did'nt know this was happening. We thought he just went out side cuz he will tell you if he has to go! So we did a total house inspection and came up with no other damage so...im guessing maybe he is'nt a fan of Klipsch?
  14. Yeah me and that damn dog went around about that! The lil' bastered gets away with murder! It is my wifes dog and so i have to beat it when she is'nt looking I knew you guys would get a kick out of that story But i still need to know is it worth building new boxes? I guess what im asking is are KSF-10.5's worth the trouble or not? I have had my eye on a set of RF-35's so...The RF-35's are basicly like what i have just with the reference speakers in them...right????
  15. Well im sure a bunch of you will laugh your butts off but this is a true story! I have a pair of KSF-10.5's and i just discovered my lil' chihuahua has been pissing on the front corner of them and has made the left front corner and bottom swell up. I noticed it when i was wiping them down and it looks like he has done it more than once! But as for the speakers they are unharmed. So is it possible to make new boxes that sound as good or better than factory or are they trash? They are not very old at all, and probably only have 20hrs on them total! I would like to reuse the factory grilles when making the new boxes but i was not sure if new boxes was the way to go??HELP!!
  16. Why would anyone use a coax cable for digital? Last is a lil' out dated dont you think? Yesterdays news!!!
  17. Not sure if i have to much but i have to reconverge my TV every week
  18. (Hallwalker) Mine only has two in it! That is all my small house can take! They are Old MTX Road thunder 2's just some i had laying around~! I loaded one facing up toward the top port and one down toward the bottom port. Decware has forum also and they have a whole thread dedicated to the house wrecker, any question at all can be answerd in there about the wrecker. I was skeptical when i first saw it also. Cuz most bandpass play 80Hz and thats it but i read some of the old post and ask a few questions and from the responces i got i could'nt help but build one!! If your good with tools it will only take a day to build it. Maybe more to make it look good. Mine wieghs about 150lbs with two 15's in it. It takes two whole sheets of 3/4 MDF Every one on there uses different types of speakers and they all say they love it.
  19. Well i have to say i am happy with it! And as for a bandpass box this one plays the whole spectrum! It is the design of the box that makes it work like it does. But if your happy with your lil'Velodyne then dont bother with this box,as for me i like the kick in the chest!!
  20. If that thing is six years old? It is time to junk it! DVD players are so cheap nowdays it would never be worth fixing. Let it R.I.P
  21. Look the same to me other than one has 5 1/4's and one has 6 1/2's and a tad different crossover points!
  22. Have any of you guys ever heared of this? If not go to www.decware.com and look for it under speakers in the main menu! Not real sure what you guys have for HT subs but i built one of these and put two MTX car 15's in it and my GOD the low end is like nothing i have ever heared! My main goal with my theater was to duplicate my local theaters sound, and i have way since passed that as far as sound quality goes but i just never had that kick you in the chest sub bass! But now i do!!!!!! You guys may think you have bass? But if you have'nt built one of these you dont have sh*t! Sunfire,Velodyne,Klipsch, no residential theater company can hold a candle to what this enclosure will produce, with just a couple cheap car audio speakers! Now you will have to buy a plate amp or something to power it but parts express sells them cheap and when your done you will have half the money in it then you do in your current sub,and 10 times the bass!!! Check it out,it's well worth it! Small rooms beware this thing is no carver sunfire. Let me know what you think about it! Decware is a audiophile site also! Those guys rock!

A new DVD/SACD is on the list also. Thanks. ---------------- My Sony DVD/SACD is not the top of the line but well worth the 130$ i paid for it!! Great sound and picture! The model # is in my signature
  24. You can love audio and music at the same time! I do! I use my living room to listen to 2channel SACD's and watch movies so...But as for 6.1 and 7.1 i would just go with 5.1 those other channels are like ghost channels anyways!
