  1. I'll take a picture of the flat cap crossover for you. There isn't any extra wire and may be more difficult than the one picturd (I just finished recapping a pair of Cornwalls and that was easy enough).
  2. Yeah, I'll post some pics tomorrow. I e-mailed Bob Crites about it and he mentioned he saw some original crossovers that used yellow flat caps like I'm seeing (The heresy is from 75). It'll make it tougher to recap, but I'll be giving it a shot
  3. I just bought a single Heresy off ebay and opened it up and noticed that the crossover was reworked with what seems to be a flat capacitor. I couldn't read the manufacturer too well, but I wanted to see if anyone else had seen this done before. Also, I noticed the craft paper that usually lines the speakers (at least in my cornwalls) was removed and the speaker is now filled with a stuffing like material. Should I make any changes to this? Matt
  4. I currently have a HK AVR-146 and I'm happy with it driving my Cornwalls. I'm looking to upgrade to something that will process the HDMI inputs for the Dolby/DTS HD formats coming from my PS3. I'm currently looking at the HK AV-254, Onky TX-SR606, and Sony STR-DG820. The HK is currently more attractive because of the preamp outputs, but the others are significantly cheaper. Anyone have experience with these? I'm going to be going to a full Heritage 5.1 setup. Currently, I have a pair of Cornwall mains, Heresy center and I'm in the process of acquiring the rears.
  5. I'm also curious if it's ok to place the heresy sideways when used as the center channel. Is there an issue with the speaker supporting the weight of the tv?
  6. Is there any issues in magnetic shielding using a Heresy as a center?
  7. I really don't think you'd miss much sticking with 5.1 instead of 7.1....you can always add another 2 in later if you feel it is needed.
  8. I'd suggest listening to them before even thinking about buying them....
  9. Thanks everyone...got the new caps installed tonight and can definitlely notice a difference. I hadn't soldered in a while, so it took a little bit of time....
  10. I bought some caps from Bob Crites a while ago and I'm finally getting ready to recap the Cornwalls...anyone have a simple guide to doing this?
  11. I'm glad you're enjoying them! I had them set up as rears in a 7.1 system for a little under a year, but didn't use that system a whole lot. I'm glad I sold them and used the money towards a pair of Cornwalls. Those are getting used a lot more...
  12. keep looking and every once in a while a good deal will pop up on ebay
  13. Try the PJ forum...that's your best bet. It took me a while, but I found everything (including old Christmas singles) by Pearl Jam except for Binaural....
  14. Will this or any of the other solutions fit in where the old terminal strip is?
  15. I'm so glad that it worked out well for you! Enoy!
  16. Responded....let me know what you think
  17. Ok, so they're still available (a few people are trying to work out details, but nothing solid yet)....
  18. Nevermind, still available for now.... I just set up the Cornwalls. They're so amazing...I can't wait to listen more tomorrow...
  19. It seems to have worked. I'll find out for sure tonight at 10. I just missed a few last week on ebay, so I'm hoping I got lucky....
  20. I just sent you a PM. Looks like I'll pick up my Cornwalls tonight if everything goes as expected, so these are definitely available.
  21. I have a pair that may become available (I'm working on a deal for a pair of Cornwalls). I'm in the DC area and I'd be looking for $375 for them.
