  1. Hello, I'm moving soon from my parents home and i'm building my new HT. I currently own a Harman Kardon AVR340 receiver and the HSU VTF-3 MK2 subwoofer and I've now been looking for the speakers. Here in Canada, we can get the Synergy F-3 for 599$ CDN (pair) and the Klipsch RB-61 for for the same price. (I know it might sound pricy for the people in the USA, but hey, klipsch is pricy here in canada!!) Anyway, my question is, since I can't do any A/B test with them, which one would you rather have with my setup? Of course I'm going to buy the center channel and the rear speakers later. But for the price, would the Synergy be a better deal? Thanks!
  2. Of course it would be a better idea =) and when you get more money, you move those RF-15 as your rear speakers and you get the RF-35
  3. Why don't you go with the RB-35 and the RW-12, I'm sure it's going to be better that way, I've heard the RB-25 with the RW-12 and I thought it was really good.

    Which Next?

Wolf, nice cat, looks like mine Shane, the exchange rate is around 1.25. Also, I believe that the MSRP is higher here, all the stores I went to retail the RW-12 for 899$ CDN. I'm sure I'd be happy with the RW-12 but im still looking at the HSU SFT-3, looks like a kickass sub too.

    Which Next?

Frzninvt, here's the deal I can get... i currently own the RW-8 and the store is willing to give me 250$ CDN for it... also, they're seling me the RW-12 for 750$ CDN - 250$ CDN (from the RW-8)... so it would only cost 500$CDN which isnt bad I think. (also, I only paid 300$ for the RW-8). Wolf, did you get the sub?

    Which Next?

I live in Quebec, Canada, we dont have any Best Buy here =/, I guess I will have to find a retailer with the Synergy line.

    Which Next?

MrMcGoo, you said that the SUB-12 outperform the RW-12 on paper, but in reality, which one is better, I'm really wondering which one I should buy because I don't know any store in my area that carry the SUB-12 so I'd have to order it. I heard the RW-12 and I thought it was really good... Wolf, I would also go with the sub then get the RF-35!
  9. Blackmesa, I've already asked this question but no one really answered my question, maybe you'd be able to help me out!... note that all the prices are canadian. The Klipsch RW-12 is retailing at 899$ over here. The guy at the store is willing to drop it to 750$, I told him I already have a RW-8 and he willing to give me 250$ for it, so the RW-12 would only cost 500$ CDN, which is , in my opinion, a good deal. Now, I could possibly get the HSU STF-3 for something around 750-800$. From what I've read, the SVS PB-12 ISB and the HSU STF-3 are pretty much the same! I'm pretty lost and I'm not sure whawt I should do.
  10. I always wondered something. Is the Sub 12" better than the RW-12?? Is it louder? never had a chance to see/hear one!
  11. Theses days... Copeland - In Motion Dredg - Catch Without Arms Underoath - They're only chasing safty (been in love with this CD for over a year now) Emanuel - Soundtrack to a Headrush Amberlin - Never Take Friendship Personal and some others... ohh yeah... I'm 100% sure you guys don't know theses bands, I'm probably a lot younger or you are all a lot older
  12. Did you ever consider getting bookshelf instead? something like the RB-25 or RB-35, you could pick up a great sub with that and of course, get a new receiver I didnt really like the RF-15 when I tested them, that's why I went with the RF-35
  13. I've heard the RB-25 with a RW-12 and I was very impressed... I would match the RB-35 with a subwoofer!
  14. No I havent, is it better than the RW-12?
  15. Well the RSW-12 is kinda expensive! its like twice the price
  16. Some info - 90% music / 10% HT - Room Size is about 15 x 15 - I love listenning to music loud, which means -20 to -10db on my receiver Thanks =)
  17. Well, I'm confused... I've been looking to get a new subwoofer lately and I still dont know which one to get (Klipsch RW-12, HSU VTF-2 MK2, SVS PB-10ISD, Paradigm PW-2200) ... Yesterday I went to a local where they sell the Klipsch RW-12 and Paradigm and I was very pleased with the sound quality of the RW-12, the PW-2200 looks better for movies. Anyway, the guy really wanted to sell this thing, here in canada, the retail cost for the Klipsch RW-12 is around 899$ CDN but it's easy to find it cheaper... So yeah the guy said he could sell it for 750$, I was like : Mmmm ok, then I told him I have the RW-8 and I expected something better. He said : ok hold on... he came back to me and said, ok, I give you 250$ for your RW-8 so the Klipsch RW-12 will only cost you 500$ CDN. Now, the HSU VTF2 MK2 is 699$, since I'm not rich I think the RW-12 could be a good deal... or I could try to sell my RW-8 for 200$ CDN and get the HSU VTF2 or I could probably get the Paradigm PW2200 for 700-800$ CDN but I thought it was too boomy... what would you guys do?? I know I'm annoying but hey, I'm confused!! and I between, I decided to get the HK AVR-235 (I was wondering which receiver I should get a couple weeks ago)
  18. Hahaha, thanks for the reply, I'll try your advice.. Thanks!
  19. Well, I'm confused... I've been looking to get a new subwoofer lately and I still dont know which one to get (Klipsch RW-12, HSU VTF-2 MK2, SVS PB-10ISD, Paradigm PW-2200) ... 20. While testing the AVR-235 and AVR-335 at my local store, I noticed that the AVR-335 had a fan, would it be better if i listen to loud music for like 2 hours, I mean, the fan would probably help the receiver! What do you think about that?? and why do people get the AVR-335 instead of 235, I mean the power rating is almost the same, only 5 watts, I bet I wouldn't hear the difference.
  21. Hahha D-rex, I know some other people are telling me the samething. The answer is simple, I'm 20 years old, in about 1-2 years, I'll leave my parents house and get an appartement with my g/f and then, once we have enough money which shouldn't take much time, well, we'll be a nice little house and guess what, I wont have to buy my home theater!! because I will already have one, that's the plan, lol. Nah but seriously, instead of buying a ****ty car, I put my money into my audio system, then once I'll have more money (with a real job), I'll get a nice car
  22. Well I can get the RW-12 for 650$ CDN from a local retailer which is probably something around 520$ USA... its actualy a pretty good price in Canada (since everything seems to be more expensive when it comes to audio), I'll sell my RW-8 so it will give me some money for my upgrade! cant wait to buy everything at the end of the summer, my parents are going to freak and I hope they wont ask the price cuz they'll freak even more, I told them my RF-35 were 400$CDN (well that I had a "deal" anyway, they believed me. If they realise I've spend all that money on a sound system, my dad might die from a heart attack! So yeah, I love Klipsch!
  23. Well I think I made my choice, Harmon Kardon AVR-235/335 is going to be my choice, I went to a local store at montreal and was able to auditione my speakers with a Pioneer Elite, a Integra and finaly a Harman Kardon receiver, the sound was soo nice with the HK AVR that I fall in love with it, I also tried my speakers with the Klipsch RW-12 subwoofer and I want one!
  24. Does anyone ever bought a refurbished receiver? if so, can we trust those, because they're a lot cheaper! I could get the Onkyo TX-SR602 refurbished for 285$ US on ecost.com
  25. I understand your point about the "return thing", you know, I've lost any respect about stores like Futureshop/Bureau En gros because I've worked in those for too many years, so I dont care anymore, I know its not the "right" way to act but hey, I think I'm not conscientious!
