  1. Most those types had a line out and a headphone out.. use the line out since it does not have amplification.
  2. quote: Originally posted by Apparition: ...annoying features (Have to turn down the other set when headphones are plugged in, have to make sure they are both set to the same volume)... That is why there are the 4.1s
  3. The Pros are awesome even if they are not digital.. there should be no problem with connecting it to that sound card.. all you need to get is a y-adapter spliter so you can hook the rears up to it. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F001%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=42%2D2463 Everything else comes with the pros.. the control pod has 2 cables for the soundcard input and a cable that goes to the sub. The speaker wire is also included.
  4. Try setting your window's volumes to around 80% and winamp at full. You shouln't have to crank the Pros up as much yet get great sound. I have sub volume set to the mark and usually listen to main set around half way but am able to crank it.. mmm.. brain shake. Check this out.. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/175/jeffrey_lew.html listen to Defuse The Bomb.. nice bass.. The Killer Bean Soundtrack] ]
  5. Make sure the Bass and Treble are at normal <50%> and winamp EQ is set to flatline. I used to have to tweak the EQ with my old ACS295 speakers but don't need to with the Pros.. Your sub setting is way too high.. sounds like you need an array of 10" 12" and 15" subs.. bass freak
  6. This is better and what I have been posting to tell ppl to get. http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F002%5F001%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=42%2D2481 along with a stereo splitter in order to have right and left in teh fronts and rears. With the adapters you gave.. the would be good for making the fronts one channel and the rears a different channel, altho I am sure you can find a cable that does the adapting in order to get more length. Right now, I actually have a 2RCA to mono so all the channels are the same. I tired to make a stereo cable out of it but it didnt work for some reason so I will probably just buy new cables
  7. I think you might have just been pushing teh sub too hard too long. Was the distortion from the sats, sub, or both? What kind of music? Lots-o-Bass? The more you push the sub.. the hotter it will get.. 80%? damn.. I hardly ever go over the 10o'clock mark.. mostly under it. There could also be somethign wrong with the amp.. so it is hard to say.. see what Amy thinks.
  8. What you say? You saying this on experience or by looking at specs? The specs don't really tell you how they are going to be. Search the BB.. I think there are a few current posts that touch on this topic.
  9. The SBLive Value will be great with the 4.1s As for wire length.. I think it is somethign like 6 meters.. you can easily splice into it to make it longer or make your own cables.
  10. Yeah.. there is not much difference from the value to the Live 5.1 except for 6 channel support and Dolby Digital decoding. I would have to say that the Live cards are going to give the same sound since the chips are the same and they are all upgradeable. Fatathaland: You can get the SBLive 5.1 for less than $80. The sbLive Value card is also a great one for the price - most people still use it ------------------ All Your Base Are Belong To Us ------------------------------------- 1GHz TBird Abit KT7A-RAID FOP38 & CuShim Kingmax 256MB PC150 Annihilator2 32MB GTS Intel Pro100+Management NIC Promise Ultra100 IBM 75GXP 45GB ATA100 & Maxtor DMP6800 27.2GB ATA66 Plextor 16X10X40A Sony 12X DVD SBLive! 5.1 AOpen HX08 Full Tower 300W Sony CPD-G400 19" Triny ProMedia 4.1
  11. An SBLive! Value would be even better with EAX support. You should be able to find one online for around 40 - 50 from a good place. They are as low as 36. Check out PriceWatch
  12. Hey.. nice system Iam.. Looks familiar. Good choice on teh CPU.. AXIA.. mmm.. wish i had one.. I got screwed on mine. You should be able to get some nice clock speeds out of it. I might end up upgrading sometime to a good AXIA if I can get a fair amount of money for mine. It isnt too bad.. will post at fairly high speeds but it is not exactly what I was hoping for. oh well .. I just got this one.. I'll wait till a 2GHz comes out. ------------------ All Your Base Are Belong To Us ------------------------------------- 1GHz TBird Abit KT7A-RAID FOP38 & CuShim Kingmax 256MB PC150 Annihilator2 32MB GTS Intel Pro100+Management NIC Promise Ultra100 IBM 75GXP 45GB ATA100 & Maxtor DMP6800 27.2GB ATA66 Plextor 16X10X40A Sony 12X DVD SBLive! 5.1 AOpen HX08 Full Tower 300W Sony CPD-G400 19" Triny ProMedia 4.1
  13. It's a mystery to me. Try over at ard/Forum in the Mobo or Drives section.. they would probably be able to help a little more.
  14. Good point. My Pros have no change in volume when hooked up thru the VCR.. I should try it thru my TV next time. Thanks
  15. When hooking up to a TV, I have mine going thru the VCR Most new TVs and VCRs have right and left RCA plugs for audio out, sou you just need to get an adapter <2 RCA to 1/8" stereo jack> from RadiosShack. It can probably be hooked up to your TV or VCR audio outs in order to get sound from VHS. Good luck.
  16. LOL.. true.. very true.. I will correct my mistake
  17. Ya man.. this TechSupport from Amy is her job.. not her life.
  18. Get DVDGenie http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/dvdgenie.html

  20. Easy on the submit button. If you want to beat the slow response.. after you hit submit.. wait a second or two and then hit the Back button to go back to the thread Klipsch site gets the response right away.. but for some reason, it takes a while for the page to change. I think it is time to close this thread.. some people don't know how to keep a cool.
  21. Talk about overkill.. you only need 1 sat per spot for good sound - more wattage isnt going to do a thing for ya and the extreme redundancy will probably screw up positioning. Also, good luck finding a spot for 4 sats in one spot.
  22. I would love to make a set of braided CAT5 cables for my Pros.. that is probably the way I go if I do replace them
