  1. Just wondering if anybody has had any success with an Earthquake Cinenova Grande 5 amp. I just got one for $1700 on Agon and plan on matching it with my RF7s,RC7, and RS7s. Always a gamble when you haven't heard something before. Jeff
  2. Bill, I'm thinking of trying out a new amp to go with my DeanG RF7's. Although I do have a good amp right now(Anthem Statement 2x325W), the Sunfire line realy sounds like its more suited for a Klipsch speaker. I like the idea of the "current source" option for that more tube like sound. If you don't mind, can you briefly describe the sound you experience with your Sunfire600 and your RF7's. Jeff
  3. Russ, Interesting how one review differs from another. The way Brian describes the Carvers, Klipsch would be the last speaker you would want to mate the ZRs' with. Have you done any mods and do cables make that much of a difference? His review now has me thinking twice about purchasing one. Jeff
  4. Russ, How would you describe the sound of the carver. I have heard it has tube like characteristics but the info/reviews out on these amps seem to be hard to find. Jeff
  5. Russ, Ever thought about grabbing the second 1000 and having 700x2 or am I just insane. I am personally considering the one on Agon for my Dean G modded RF7s'. Do you think it would sound much different than my 325x2 Anthem Statement P2.
  6. OK Mark, so all I need is your Lynx. Just like numerous other members, we can't wait to listen to your latest beasts when they are ready.
  7. Just wondering how many people have experimented or use a combination of SS and tube amplification. I was thinking of bi-amping my RF-7s, going with my Anthem Statement 325W/ch for the low frequencies, and maybe wait till Marks Juicy Music Pcats come out and using one of them for the high frequencies. The problem is, how do you know the appropriate amount of power to put to the highs to balance out the lows?
  8. Hey Mike. That was the problem. I have it switched to 12 now and its much better. There is still a very slight hiss, not audible unless you put your ear beside the speaker, so that's fine. I have my unit between my pre/pro and 2ch amp via RCA-XLR cables. How do you recommend hooking it up for best performance. I purchased it mainly to try and smooth out my RF7's, but Deans crossover mod is on the way which should help tame the speakers. Any pointers or tips are always welcome! Jeff
  9. Hi guys. I just purchased a DEQ2496 and am experiencing a constant hiss when it is turned on. When I put it in bypass mode it disappears. Just wondering if it might be a factory defect or if there is something I can do to eliminate the hiss. I tried the analog connection and digital with no change. I did notice that in the digital domain the meter was reading up into the clip range. This thing is more complicated than I thought! Thanks Jeff
  10. The new Anthem Statement 2 channel or 5 channel amps are absolutely killer. 325W per channel paired up with RF7's will have your head spinning. Smoother than a Bryston SST and totally non fatiguing. Cost is approx. 1K per channel. Check out the reviews these tanks are getting, nothing short of incredible.
  11. Haven't heard any Aragon products, but it might be worth your while to look at the new Anthem Statement line. Very affordable, smooth, detailed, and enough power to drive a small theatre. Check out the reviews these amps are getting. Very impressive!
