  1. I never said it was not longer a value, think it is a value under $1100
  2. Thanks for the offer, however I am in california so shipping (besides being a sin) would be too expensive.
  3. Yep, it does sound like a good project, plus will be upgrading the x-overs at the sametime. My father is experianced in woodwork and veneer so he knows what he is doing.
  4. I used a merlin with a teac and it rocked my socks off till they droped. It sounded pretty good for a $700 set-up, well at the time it was $700 now it would be $900 as the merlin has gone up in price.
  5. Well in my "sleep chamber" I have Klipsch Rf-3's, a shanling stp-80 all tube int amp, harman/kardon 430 (using only tuner), keenwood cd player, teac a-l700p (just there incase). So yeah, thats whats in my bedroom
  6. I change my mind more than a drunken sailor. Belles were just going to be too expensive and well cornscalla's even though I had already bought the wood, just ended up being on the back burner. And its something I may try later, after I get some cornwalls beautiful!
  7. I would like to buy some beat cornwalls for my next speakers. You ask why beat? I awnser...I figure I would like to venner them, there are a few reasons. First off I can get rid of the ugly plywood sides that show on the edges. Next I can get a finish I like. I will be redoing the grills, and adding new x-overs. This will be a father son project, so a good thing for my dad and I. Now back to the point, I am looking for the beat cornwalls, with perfect drivers however. I would like them to be in socal, because shipping is just too much. Just asking for you guys to keep an eye out for me, As i will be keeping my open as well. Thanks James
  8. Stay away from the older version, they are no where near the quility of the earlier. Esp at $1100 stay away
  9. Well if they are going to be around 2k, then I'll just by k-horns, i mean f-it, i may have a small room, and they would be only 11'7" apart from far end to far end, but i have corners! haha! maybe I should try some cornwalls. I have never heard any heritage...and that is a must do...I guess i need to hear a pair of cornwalls, I may just fall in love
  10. I am not sure of what I should be expecting to spend on a pair of belle's in mint or near mint, any finish. My idea was around $1500, am I close?
  11. I have been getting that way also, mostly because I am out of music. I have listened to all of the cd's i have and i am tired of listening to the same crap over and over again. But if you get tired of tripping on speakers I'll take some off your hands
  12. Well, I have been wanting new speakers, I have about $1500 which is my $500 and the $1000 my dad is probably will put in as an x-mas present (past presents indicate around that price point), so I won't be able to buy them intill after or close to x-mas. I was going to buy a pair without even demoing it, and then it struck me that someone on the forum might be willing to let me have a listen with them. IF you are will just let me know by emailing me here audiophilefreak@gmail.com Thanks
  13. I agree with seti, I have to find someone who has the belle in my area for a listen. It's either belle's or Rf-7's, and I already have a forum member who is letting me come over and use my amp on them as well.
  14. I was thinking today that I may want to buy a pair of belle's if I can find a pair close to me in the $1500 range. They are the most beautiful speaker ever, IMO. Now will they work in my 11'7" x 13'7" with and opening in the wear left oh 18"x 4', now im not asking if they will sound there best, I know they will not, I am just asking if I can get good sound out of them. I love the fact that they are not too deep, unlike the la scala.
  15. yes sir, it is for switching those two amps. Mostly becasue I like to listen in the morning and for backround music, and I don't want to fire up the tubes. Thanks for the link
  16. Is there anything were I can swith two amps on the same set of speakers. Amps will not be on during switch of course, I am imagining a box, where that has two pairs of speakers imputs and one set of outputs with a swich, is there something that will work, plus not degrade of distort the intended signal?
  17. Every year isn't too bad, I probably wont have the amp in a year so... doesn't really matter I guess
  18. I was thinking about how many hours my new tube amp is going to be on buring the week, and I came up with the astounding figure of 70 hours. Is that acceptable to do with tube gear, and with running that many hours is there anything I should expect differently. (sorry for my ignorance about this subject) James
  19. and me, who takes the old bulb out to the street and put in behind one of Jim's tires
  20. haha, I love all these post that I have started. I fell like a proud daddy!
