  1. Amazing what some people put worth on, simple used coffee cup for $119.50 to have the Klipsch stamped logo. Worth would only be .25¢ to myself but like they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure! Gotta be amazed with the ebay way!
  2. Accounding to Klipsch, they have address this and given quite the crossover upgrade in the RF-83. I'm sure with some technos that not even the good is good enough to be compelled to tinker with!
  3. One important aspect to keep in mind: Always remember to keep things into perspective when individuals use terminologies such as: HUGE difference, blows it out of the water, knock your socks off, orbits into space, leaves it in the dust, etc. Some changes to the ear has an impact on some to over-inflate, dramatize, or get over emotional in statements made. Often, even subtle difference can cause this effect in individuals. I've come across this more frequently than not. Even though Klipsch F-series is more budget, it holds up very well. Many have been very impressed with their performance, especially in ratio to price. The RF-series upgrades you to better cabinets, drivers, (bulid-quality) etc. It's really best to listen to each and decide at what price point your ears is willing to spend to justify what it hears. If you can, try and listen to each on the same equip, even if you have to bring your own so you really get an idea what you are hearing, say on your favorite CD you are very familiar with. If the differences are great enough to you to justify paying more for what you want, or you may find it's not enough to justify paying more. A good way to start is to listen with your own hears and not someone elses since the final enjoyment is what you like to what point! Good Luck.
  4. I cannot believe the sound from the RF-7's. These speakers are as nice as you said. I went to buy a used Klipshorn, had a listen (nice), asked if I could hear his RF-7's, left without buying the Klipshorns, and days later, I have brand new cherry RF-7's. The Klipschorn's sounded great on his tubes, the RF-7's have superior definiton and imaging is what sold me on these speakers. Now I need to sell my Forte II's. I'm going to put an ad in the local paper over the weekend to sell, don't want to go the ebay way and have to ship. My compulsion for Klipshorns are now gone. These RF-7's are well built, nearly 100 pounds each, the plastic feet should be metal with how heavy, fit and finish is first rate for this price. I tried to wait until Septmeber to see what new Klipsch products are coming out but I had to have the RF-7. The RF-7's are a VERY LARGE sound for it's smaller foot-print. The speakers just disappear and a real live show appears before you.
  5. It's the Vaccum Tube Valley Issue 19 publication/magazine.
  6. Come-On crazytubepower, stop being so negative, if you haven't tried them yourself you don't have grounds, if you did, it's your choice. I myself have my eye on those RF-7's!
  7. Congrats on your new purchase rockbobmel, I envy you!
  8. Simple, the RF-7's are FINE speakers. I've read many users praise, and some great reviews in the audio magazines, and over the internet. I've seen quite a few Klipschorn's for sale locally, and over the internet. I called to inquire about a few, was told they were selling because they bought the RF-7's. I was thinking about Klipschorn's in the future, but I just heard them and I wasn't impressed as I thought I would be from what I've heard here. I was impressed more so with the RF-7's. I'm thinking about saving for RF-7's.
  9. NO WAY!!! That's exactly what we should not do! We all need to complain and demand it to stop or if we let them get away with it, we will have to pay what you do! Who wants that. You have to stop greed in it's track or we all will suffer later on as it multiplies. Don't close your eyes to what is really going on!
  10. I hate it when George raises Gas prices so high! Lets all protest about it and gain back the wrong he is doing to us.
  11. Thanks for the help! I'm very surprised more people here didn't know the answer! I thought these Klipsch guys here knew all the answers!!
  12. Wow, no one knows if the Forte II can be replaced with titanium diaphragms for mid & tweeter? I thought this would be the best place to ask? Hmmmm?
  13. Hi, I just bought a nice pair of Forte II speakers. The guy said all drivers were working and in perfect condition and I took his honest word for it but when I got it home, one of the tweeters wasn't working and I could tell as soon as I turned it on. I've tested and the diaphragm is out so I need to order another one. This one has a Phenolic diaphragm for the tweeter. Can I replace all tweeter and midrange diaphragms on the Fortee II with Titanium diaphragms? A friend of mine just replaced all his diaphragms in his KLF-30 with titanium diaphragms and they sound really nice and I was wondering if the Forte II can to? Also, what would make the tweeter go out? I thought these were supposed to last much longer than this?? I'm curious what the guy did to the tweeter to make it go out. Thanks for any info shared. Tib
